(KGTV) - Two Chula Vista parks closed Thursday due to the threat of falling trees and saturated ground amid a cold winter storm.The City of Chula Vista tweeted the closures about 3 p.m. Thursday.Hilltop Park, 780 Hilltop Drive, and Eucalyptus Park, 436 C Street, are located between I-5 and I-805 in the western half of the city. They will be shut down until crews can remove the trees, city officials said.The ground "is too saturated to access" the trees, according to the City of Chula Vista.All sports fields at both parks were also closed. 572

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A South Bay family who discovered the body of their loved one buried in a backyard in Tijuana tells 10News there's now an arrest warrant for that woman's stepson. Fernanda Gonzalez went missing in Tijuana on February 2nd. Her sister, Erika Gonzalez, tells 10News Tijuana authorities issued the warrant for 20-year-old Aaron Seth Juarez wanted in connection with his stepmom's murder. The family's attorney, Jesus Rodolfo Cruz, tells 10News Fernanda's Jeep Grand Cherokee is still missing. The Jeep has California plates that read 6VXP431. Gonzalez first reported her sister missing in early February and posted on social media asking for help finding her. Gonzalez tells 10News each post had thousands of shares before she got a phone call that changed the course of the search, "somebody call me and said to keep looking for my sister because she was already dead and in the back of her yard".RELATED: Woman discovers her sister's body buried in Tijuana backyardAfter getting two calls saying the same thing, Gonzalez and her father went to Fernanda's home in Tijuana and searched the backyard, eventually finding Fernanda's body buried. (KGTV) -- A group of parents from the Sweetwater Union High School district have started a petition hoping to push the district to allow their student-athletes to return to practice.As of Tuesday night, the petition has over 1,100 signatures. The parents want their children to follow all safety and social distancing guidelines, but they say the district has told them the kids can't practice. The petition gives examples of other school districts in San Diego County that have allowed their student athletes to return to practice. The petition even suggests that district officials are keeping sports shut down to balance Sweetwater's multi-million dollar budget deficit.Parents argue that not having sports is affecting their children's mental health and that not practicing could put them at a disadvantage once the seasons starts and when it comes time to get sports scholarships. China's Tiangong-1 space lab re-entered the Earth's atmosphere around 8.15 a.m. Monday (8:15 p.m. ET Sunday) in a fiery fall, China's Manned Space Agency said.Tiangong-1 plummeted into the middle of the South Pacific, the space agency said."Most parts were burned up in the re-entry process," the agency said.The out-of-control 40-foot long Tiangong-1, or "Heavenly Palace," is one of China's highest profile space projects. The unmanned space lab was launched in September 2011 as a prototype for China's ultimate space goal: a permanent space station that is expected to launch around 2022.But the Chinese government told the United Nations in May 2017 that its space lab had "ceased functioning" in March 2016, without saying exactly why.The incident was embarrassing for China's space program but it hasn't delayed its progress.
