LAKELAND, Fla. -- A family argument on Mother's Day turned violent and ended in the arrest of a mother and a son in Lakeland, Florida. Seth Bryant, 27, was arrested for felony battery (domestic violence) on his father, 58-year-old Clayton Bryant, after deputies say Seth and Clayton got into a physical argument over alcohol. The father and son were arguing after Seth demanded he be allowed to have more alcohol, according to the arrest affidavits. Seth reportedly put his fist against his father's face and pushed him with it, deputies say. After deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, Seth reportedly made numerous derogatory racial comments toward the deputy who is black. As Seth was being arrested, Judy Bryant, 54, shoved her husband against a counter and said "How's this for domestic violence?" She then refused commands by the deputies and resisted the deputy's efforts to arrest her. Ultimately, she was placed into handcuffs and was arrested. Judy Bryant was charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic violence). 1083

(KGTV) -  A thief in a hoodie made off with a haul in La Mesa and the contents of that haul are sparking outrage.Outside her condo just off El Cajon Boulevard, Kathleen put out several bags and boxes right outside her front door Monday morning. "A lot of sweaters and warm winter clothes, a couple pair of shoes and a teddy bear," said Kathleen.Also included: Several throw rugs and some households items. Stuck on each box and bag was a sticky note with the name: Vietnam Veterans of America, the group picking up the donations."They weren't scheduled to come until Tuesday," said Kathleen.So when Kathleen came home Monday afternoon and discovered the donations gone, she checked her Ring camera footage. The video begins with a person in a hoodie, bending down, lifting a box and throw rug, and then running off. Kathleen says the camera wasn't rolling when the other stuff vanished."Really sad they take from Vietnam veterans," said Kathleen.Kathleen comes from a military family, including a brother who served in the Vietnam War."It's heartbreaking. Ladies, having your dog sleep with you could be the key to a great night's sleep, and that's according to science.The experiment titled, "An Examination of Adult Women's Sleep Quality and Sleep Routines in Relation to Pet Ownership and Bedsharing," studied 962 American women to see how pet ownership impacted their slumber.Fifty-five percent of the woman participating in the study let at least one of their dogs sleep in their bed, 31 percent of the women shared their bed with a cat.Research shows that while cats and human partners were "disruptive," dogs were peaceful bed companions.
