Greg Eubanks disappeared over the weekend, leaving his family frantic. Two days later, he was at home, safe.The 41-year-old had crashed his SUV around 3 a.m. Saturday in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The SUV went down an embankment and got stuck between the highway entrance and exit ramps, so his car wasn't visible from the road.Eubanks was hurt when he was thrown from the SUV. He was left laying at the bottom of the ravine with broken bones and a dead cell phone for two days and three nights. "He said he didn't think he was gonna make it," Tre Drew, Eubanks' cousin, said. "He heard several fire trucks passing, ambulance passing. He kept saying 'I know they're coming for me' and no one came for him."Eubanks' son, Greg Eubanks Jr., reported him missing Saturday, then drove around searching for his dad. "I was worried. I couldn't sleep. (I) rode around all day yesterday trying to find his car, just looking for any type of piece of evidence," the younger Eubanks said.A highway crew finally spotted Eubanks and his car while repairing a damaged guardrail on the Indian Head Highway. "He said it was the worst thing he's ever been through, and he has been through a lot," Drew said.Eubanks was taken to the hospital for treatment. His family says he is in good spirits and is expected to make a full recovery. GREELEY, Colorado – Weld County’s top prosecutors and Frederick police held a news conference Monday afternoon to brief the media on more details of the Chris Watts case after he was sentenced earlier in the day to several life terms in prison without the possibility of parole in the deaths of his pregnant wife and young daughters.Flanked by fellow prosecutors, Frederick Police Department representatives and the county coroner, 19th Judicial District Attorney Michael Rourke started the news conference by thanking the law enforcement agencies involved in the case as well as the family of Shanann Watts for “serving justice” in her name and those of her two daughters and unborn child.Much of what Rourke and his deputy district attorney, Steve Wrenn, discussed at the news conference centered on new details that had not been released about the case, the autopsy reports for the three which were released after the news conference, and what will happen next for Chris Watts as he makes his way to prison for the rest of his life.Rourke said that he doesn’t believe Watts will ever truthfully answer as to why he killed his family though his parents pleaded with him during sentencing Monday to come clean and atone in the future.He said that Watts’ attorneys approached prosecutors first about the plea deal and that he did not accept until after speaking with Shanann’s family, the Rzuceks, in North Carolina beforehand. The Rzuceks addressed Watts and the case in court Monday.“That was a conversation I was only going to have with them face to face,” Rourke said.He reiterated that he and the family had talked about the state of the death penalty in Colorado and its future. Rourke said that he and the family believed that even if Watts were to receive the death penalty, neither were sure that he would ever be executed in their lifetimes.“Sandra (Shanann’s mother) leaned across the table and said, ‘Why haven’t you done that?’” Rourke said of accepting the plea deal. “That helped the family get some needed closure.”Rourke said he also spoke with Judge Marcelo Kopcow Sunday ahead of the sentencing hearing to give him more information, including the unredacted affidavit, so that the court could impose a “just and fair sentence under the circumstances.” 2278

Google has decided that most of its 200,000 employees and contractors should work from home through next June. It's a sobering assessment of the pandemic’s potential staying power from the company that provides the answers for the world’s most trusted internet search engine. The remote-work order issued Monday by Google CEO Sundar Pichai also affects other companies owned by Google’s corporate parent, Alphabet Inc. It marks a six-month extension of Google’s previous plan to keep most of its offices closed through the rest of this year. GLOBE, Arizona — Police are investigating a shooting at a Globe, Arizona bar Sunday night that left two people dead.The shooting occurred at the Jammerz bar around 11:30 p.m. local time; police say a lone gunman walked in and opened fire. Four people were shot during the incident, and two of those people were killed. There is no word on the condition of the surviving two victims.One person of interest was taken into custody. Authorities said they are confident the person in custody is the suspect. It appears to be a random act of violence, according to information from police. The name of the suspect hasn't been released and police will update the public at a news conference later Monday.The motive is also not yet known. 748
