ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — One person is dead following a multi-car crash on Interstate 15 in North San Diego County.A 25-year-old man from Chula Vista was behind the wheel of a Mustang traveling southbound on I-15 collided with at least three vehicles just before 6:30 a.m. just north of the State Route 76 connector, according to California Highway Patrol.The driver of the Mustang was seriously injured and taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he later died. (KGTV) - Escondido Police announced Saturday the arrest of a 13-year-old boy in a case involving Xanax overdoses at Rincon Middle School.Six children aged 11 to 13 years were found to have taken the anti-anxiety drug at lunch time on October 25.Three of the children required emergency medical treatment.  All six have since recovered with no lasting effects.RELATED: Juveniles hospitalized after taking XanaxEscondido Police arrested the juvenile suspect Monday after an investigation. Facebook announced today it is removing hundreds of pages and accounts run by people in the U.S. who are spreading misinformation.The social media platform's staff identified 559 pages and 251 accounts, and among those is Right Wing News, which has more than 3 million followers, the New York Times reports. Left-wing pages identified in the group include the Resistance and Reverb Press (816,000 followers).It's the most domestic accounts and pages Facebook has removed, officials with the platform said. They violate the rules about online spam, and are financially motivated, according to the NY Times report.False narratives on social media were once known as something mostly done by Russian-linked operatives. It's now become something created more in the U.S., the Times said.Researchers said it's harder to root out false information that's from the U.S. than foreign countries. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - An Escondido CrossFit class got quite a nasty surprise when they went outside for their workout, Wednesday. They found human feces.The owner of Boombox CrossFit North, Brittani Ramirez, said she was in shock when she heard over the phone, "I didn't believe her; I was like no, we get dogs back there all the time, like I'm sure it was just a stray dog."When she looked back at their security footage, it showed a man walking up to the back door, wiggling the handle, then walking to the corner of the lot, pulling down his pants and defecating.The footage showed it was 3:30 p.m., just an hour before class started."One of my amazing members Lacey stepped in, she gloved up, got some trash bags, she got some bleach, and Katie, one of my coaches, the two of them handled the business," Ramirez said.A health concern for everyone involved. Ramirez said this isn't her first unpleasant experience with homeless, she said they've been stopping in over the three years Boombox has been open."They walk in and they see it's obviously very different in here but still a lot of them are mentally ill or on drugs so they don't quite understand," Ramirez said before she bought the building, it was a redevelopment center for homeless and convicts. The former facility was there for more than 30 years.Ramirez hopes the city can do something to help them. At the gym, she's planning to lock the gate each day to make sure there is no more unwanted surprises.The Deputy City Manager, William Wolfe, said the city's reunited 50-60 homeless people with their families who are now caring for them. He said he is meeting with local business owners Thursday night to talk about forming a homeless task force. He said the city already has a Quality of Life Team, made up of local leaders to address these issues and seek out solutions. If a business owner has an issue with homeless, Wolfe said they should call him.Ramirez opened Boombox after rediscovering her love for fitness. She played basketball, volleyball and softball in her youth and after having children she wanted to rekindle that fire. Construction is underway to build what leaders say will be an icon of the city.Spanning 108 ft wide, a new arch will be lifted 40 ft above the intersection of Grand Avenue and Centre City Parkway."Escondido is just the hidden jewel of North County; in fact, Escondido means hidden valley and beautiful hidden valley. We're starting to live up to that more than I've ever seen," said Dan Forster.Forster owns Design Moe Kitchen & Bath and has watched new blood elevate the historic downtown over the last ten years, including restaurants, breweries, and new businesses. Also vice president of the Escondido Downtown Business Association, Forster says they've wanted a grand sign like this for years, but he says it was cost-prohibitive. Forster says that changed with an anonymous million donation made to the Escondido Charitable Foundation for the arch. "There's no money that's being taken out of the city budgets to pay for this, it's just one big beautiful sign," said Forster. Crews will raise the sign on March 3.
