UNITED NATIONS, March 21 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday welcomed the meeting of the foreign ministers of China, Japan and South Korea, voicing his hope that "it will give a momentum to reinforce the trilateral cooperation mechanism."
He said China will cooperate with Russia to hold the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit in Russia this year to jointly maintain emerging economies' interests and promote global economic governance reform.
Li made the remarks while presiding over an executive meeting of the State Council on Wednesday, saying that governments at all levels should be responsible and spare no efforts to guarantee the targets in the new government work report.
During the past year, China has, overall, achieved a stable performance while at the same time securing progress in its economic and social development. The main indication of this stable performance is that the economy operated within an appropriate range.
"Of course, we will keep in touch with the other organs in the UN system, the General Assembly and other bodies, to insure that we achieve synergy according to our division of labor in the efforts that we make to try to address the issues we face," the Chinese ambassador said.
