Twitter said late Thursday it was changing its policy on hacked content after an outcry about its handling of an unverified political story that sparked cries of censorship from the right. An executive tweeted that the social media company will no longer remove hacked material unless it’s directly shared by hackers or those working with them. Instead of blocking links from being shared, tweets will be labeled to provide context.Twitter and Facebook had moved quickly this week to limit the spread of the story published by the conservative-leaning New York Post, which cited unverified emails regarding Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s relationship with Ukraine between him and his son, Hunter.The origins of the story also trace back to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who has repeatedly pushed unfounded claims about Biden and his son. Even if the emails in the Post are legitimate, they don’t validate Trump and Giuliani’s claims that Biden’s actions were influenced by his son’s business dealings in Ukraine.The email reportedly is from Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Ukranian energy company Burisma. Pozharskyi wrote to thank Biden "for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent (sic) some time together. It’s realty (sic) an honor and pleasure.”Giuliani claims the emails were taken from a laptop that was dropped off at a Delaware computer repair shop in 2019, which was never picked up by the owner. TULSA, Okla. — Several Tulsans are outraged after Spanish-speaking families were turned away during a holiday toy registration at Loaves and Fishes ministry."My children are Hispanic. We speak predominantly Spanish at home, so for someone to be turned away for their language it really offended me," said Megan Aviles, who witnessed the incident. It was Tuesday when Aviles stood in line with her two daughters waiting to register for the ministry's annual toy giveaway. She noticed several Hispanic women in front were being denied access to the registration because they didn't speak English."I went forward to try and assist and was like 'look, I can translate for these women. I'm bilingual,' " said Aviles.However, the pastor and executive director of the organization admitted he didn't allow her or anyone else to translate for the families."The reason I didn't use one of our guests or a family member or even a child is my experience with interpreters is they don't necessarily interpret what I say," said pastor Al Poncel.He said he would feel more comfortable having interpreters he knows, so nothing is lost in translation. Poncel said this is the first time that he has ran into a language issue at the ministry after years of being with the organization, but still he felt he made a mistake by turning away the families just because he didn't have the staff to help with the high demand."I didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings. I didn't want to offend anybody. I want to help as many people as I can," said Poncel.He said he is looking at ways to improve and be more inclusive of the needs of the community, so he is already looking at partnering with other local ministries and organizations to help interpret in the future."The 18 and 19 is going to be big days of our Christmas outreach. Uber announced its "Get Out and Vote" campaign as they look to do their part to help people get to the polls to vote in the upcoming presidental election.On Tuesday, the ride-sharing company said in a press release that the campaign was designed to help communities and their employees to exercise their right to vote.The company said they focus on three core areas to help get folks registered to vote: in-app voter registration and vote-by-mail ballot requests, poll finding and ride promos and powering the polls.If you have the Uber or Uber Eats app, you can register to vote and request a mail-in ballot through those apps.If you need to get to the polls on Election Day, Uber will get you there at a discounted price.“As we look ahead to this year’s election, we are committed to doing our part to make sure every citizen has access to vote,” Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in the press release. “We hope that by giving people the ability to easily register to vote and request an absentee ballot via the Uber and Uber Eats apps, independent workers—and everyone who uses our platform—will have a stronger voice in our democracy."Khosrowshahi added that employees would have Election Day off. 1209

(KGTV) — Sheriff's deputies asked the public for help Wednesday to locate an East County man who disappeared from an assisted living facility.SDSO says 74-year-old Stan Neff was last seen just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the facility in the 8900 block of Troy Street in Spring Valley. He may have walked out through a side door.Neff has dementia and tires easily, deputies say. He is described as a white male, weighing about 140 pounds, 5-foot 8-inches tall, and with gray hair. Neff was last seen wearing a blue plaid button-up shirt or white t-shirt, khaki pants, and one loafer shoe and one sandal.
