Authorities are racing to rescue three people trapped in a West Virginia mine.Four individuals were reported missing Saturday after an abandoned ATV they were believed to be riding was found near the entrance of a mine in Clear Creek, according to a statement from the office of West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice.One of the four emerged from the mine alive and on his own late Monday night, the West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training said.The man said that the three people left trapped were alive and gave authorities details on their location, according to Justice's office.Rescue teams were unable to locate them overnight Monday. ASHEVILLE, North Carolina (WLOS) —Police have identified their suspect after a standoff put multiple establishments near the well-known Biltmore Estate on lockdown Wednesday morning.Asheville Police say they entered a foot pursuit with Gary Adrian Church, 42, of Ronda, N.C., at approximately 9:34 a.m. local time. Church had open warrants for several robberies in Asheville, as well as Burke and Iredell Counties.The suspect fled on foot and into the woods behind the DoubleTree Hotel and TGIFriday’s in Biltmore Village.As a safety precaution, several businesses in the area, including MAHEC, DoubleTree Hotel, TGIFriday’s and the Hampton Inn were all placed on lockdown.The Asheville Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the area and stayed in constant communication with Church. As the number of coronavirus cases continues to climb around the world and disrupts the travel industry, Princess Cruises has announced cancellation of early 2021 trips.“Due to restrictions and limitations with border and port access determined by government and health authorities and the continued uncertainty of airline travel,” Princess Cruises canceled about 30 voyages on two ships.The Island Princess, which stopped at ports around the world, and Pacific Princess, that sailed around South America and Australia, will not set sail until at least April, according to a release from the company.The cancelled voyages include a 111-day around-the-world from Los Angeles.Princess Cruises, which is owned by Carnival, is offering refunds or credit for a future cruise.Carnival Cruises has also canceled some 2021 voyages, and likely won’t return to full capacity until 2022.The cruise company is facing legal action for their handling of passengers when the coronavirus pandemic started this spring. ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta police have accused a suspect of felony murder and aggravated assault in a shooting that killed an 8-year-old girl near the site of an earlier police shooting.Police said Wednesday that they issued warrants a day earlier for 19-year-old Julian Conley in the slaying of Secoriea Turner. Conley's attorney, Jackie Patterson, said Conley turned himself in Wednesday. Patterson says Conley was peacefully protesting and witnessed the shooting but did not open fire himself. Secoriea was fatally shot on the Fourth of July while riding in an SUV with her mother and another adult near the Wendy's restaurant where Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man, was killed by a white police officer on June 12. 730
