North Wind Heating and Air is a local family-run business proudly serving Macomb County for 28 years. Lisa Agostino signed a work order approving both a service call and repairs to her a/c unit. The part was installed that same day. After the part was installed she reached out to North Wind stating that she no longer agreed with the price of the replaced part. Ms. Agostino was offered a solution to the dispute. She agreed that the part would be returned to North Wind. In turn Ms. Agostino would not be charged. This is what occurred. Ms. Agostino has not been charged for the service call or the replacement part.Days later Ms. Agostino posted false statements about North Wind on-line. She represents that she paid for the service call and replacement part, which she did not. These statements significantly effected North Wind's business. North Wind is a small local business. Ms. Agostino's false and defamatory statements have not only effected the North Wind's business, but has had a direct negative effect on its ability to offer full time hours to its employees.Prior to filing the lawsuit North Wind reached out to Ms. Agostino requesting the removal of the false statements. She refused. North Wind is simply seeking the removal of these false on-line statements.North Wind will continue to proudly serve its customers. 1342

North Korea is willing to hold talks with the United States, South Korean President Moon Jae-In said in a statement Sunday.The South Korean leader said he'd met with the North Korean delegation in Pyeongchang before the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games, and told them that North Korea-US talks should happen "as soon as possible."Moon said the North Koreans indicated they were willing to talk with the US, and agreed that "the inter-Korean relationship and North Korea-US relationship should develop together."  537

New numbers from the National Interagency Fire Center show that 2018 could be one of California's worst ever for wildfires.Already this year, nine wildfires have scorched 721,642 acres across the state. That's the sixth most in the last 20 years. The worst came in 2008 when fires burned 1,375,781 acres.2018 has also been one of the deadliest, with 6 firefighters falling in the line of duty. The most recent came this week in the Mendocino Complex.The fact that all this devastation has come before the "official" start of fire season means this year could be record-setting.Typically, wildfires are most prominent in California in the late summer and fall. That's when Santa Ana winds can fan flames and send heat waves throughout the state. New mandates for stores, cities and regions require many of us to wear masks in public, but researchers say it's important to treat them like a biohazard.Professor and Department Chair of Community, Environment and Policy at the University of Arizona Public Health College Kelly Reynolds said, while in public, the virus can get on the front of the mask and live on it for several days."By design, the mask could really be contaminated, so we recommend that people think of their masks as a biohazard," Reynolds said.The virus can live on surgical and N95 masks for up to seven days. Normally, they would be thrown out after one use, but a shortage in Personal Protective Equipment prevents that."You can’t just throw them in the washer machine -- that would destroy their fibers," Reynolds said. "For those (N95 and surgical), the best recommendation is to let the natural course of the virus dying off to run its course, so the recommendation is to take those masks and put them in a paper bag and wait seven days before you use them again."More commonly though, she said people in the community are wearing homemade, cloth masks, which can hold the virus for two days.She said one advantage in Arizona to clean those is the summer heat, which means leaving it in a car for at least 20 minutes."When it is 110 outside, in no time our cars will get really hot, so the coronavirus can survive in our cars for 20 minutes in up to 130 degrees and five minutes at 150 degrees, so that can be a very effective tool for decontaminating our masks," Reynolds said.She recommends removing the masks from the elastic around the ears using your pinkies. She said this is because those are the fingers you're least likely to use touching your face.After that, make sure to put it in a central location and sanitize or wash your hands."If you think about why we are wearing the mask in the first place, it is to prevent our exposure," Reynolds said.
