Megan Carbonell was reunited Monday with several of the paramedics with the San Miguel Fire Department. They were first on the scene in September of 2017 when she was struck by a driver while crossing Cristobal Drive wither her daughter. She suspects she had the experimental vaccine as part of Pfizer’s Phase III clinical trials.After the second shot, she said she was light-headed, nauseous, had a headache, ran a fever, and was hardly able to lift her arm from muscle aches. She wasn't warned and it scared her into thinking she might have COVID-19.“The immune system is revving up,” said LJ Tan, Chief Strategy Officer at the Immunization Action Coalition. “It's responding to that vaccine, and I think we need to tell our patients that so that they expect that. Providers and advocates lead education efforts on what to expect.
