SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Zoo has a long history with pandas. Since 1987, the famous zoo has housed the adorable bears. Monday, the zoo announced that it was saying goodbye to two giant pandas, 27-year-old Bai Yun and Xiao Liwu. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Department says pedestrian fatalities are going up in California - so they're cracking down on drivers, pedestrians and those violating laws that pertain to motorized scooters. All of this, just as new reports show a flood of scooter-related injuries backing up local emergency rooms. Wednesday night SDPD sent out targeted patrols to downtown and Lincoln Park. Two spots where pedestrian and bike collisions have increased in the last three years. In many cases, traffic violations led to those crashes. 10News watched as officers ticketed more than 50 people, and gave out more than 20 warnings. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — This month, Old Town's Whaley House Museum will open its doors for extended hours and invite guests in for a night of haunts and history.Every October, visitors can stop by during the museum's extended hours. This month, they take place Oct. 24 - 31. The two-story home and store addition was added in 1857 by Thomas Whaley. It was the first two-story brick edifice in San Diego and built using bricks made in Whaley's brickyard.The house operated as one of the first stores in the Old Town area and at one time was Whaley's home, a courtroom, a general store, and a theater simultaneously.While the store served the community in multiple ways during the 1800s, it seems its residents of one of the most haunted homes in America have stayed behind to watch over the grounds.During tours, museum guides will explore the stories of Whaley; his wife, Anna; their children, Violet and Tommie; and "Yankee" Jim Robinson — all of whom are believed to still be at the home in some form."Yankee Jim" was hanged on the grounds in 1852. Guests have reported heavy footsteps and windows being unlatched and opened — even Whaley himself. Others reported seeing Whaley on the home's upper landing, and a full apparition of Anna in the downstairs rooms or garden.Tickets for Halloween tours are for adults and for children, seniors, and military members. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - This weekend job seekers are invited to the San Diego Cannabis and Hemp Job Fair & Business Mixer.Organizer Joshua Caruso, with the San Diego Cannabis Farmers Market, says it’s an important milestone one year after recreational marijuana was legalized in California. “We felt that the community really needed to know the brands and dispensaries and hemp companies that are local,” said Caruso. He says it’s the first job fair held in San Diego since recreational marijuana was legalized in the state.Over 30 companies will be at the event, including Golden State Greens located in Point Loma. “We are working professionals, we’re moms and dads and sisters and brothers and aunts and uncles, we’re just trying to shed a positive light on the industry,” said Golden State Greens Manager, Joshua Wilson. Wilson says Golden State Greens is a leader when it comes to complying with new state regulations and that they’re working to combat the negative stigma some still have about the industry.Companies are looking for employees of all skill levels, from managers to drivers. “There’s going to be people in suits, there’s going to be multi-million dollar companies, this is a real industry, this is a very thriving industry,” said Wilson.
