(KGTV) — Police Saturday released a sketch of man who they say grabbed a 16-year-old in a "bear hug" and tried to kidnap her on her way to school.The teenager was walking to El Camino High School on Thursday just before 7:30 a.m. when the suspect walked past her on Mesa Drive, Oceanside Police say. As the two crossed paths, the suspect turned around and grabbed her in a "bear hug." During the struggle, the suspect fell to the ground and the teen was able to escape and make it to school, where she told campus security about the incident.RELATED: Man tries to grab 16-year-old girl walking to school in OceansideOceanside Police searched the surrounding area with a drone, but didn't find the suspect.The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, in his 50s, standing about 5-foot-9, and weighing 150 pounds, and with a bald head and light brown hair on both sides.Police added he's very thin and may be homeless. He also has a scab on the right side of his neck. The suspect was last seen wearing a tan pullover sweatshirt and black baggy, dirty jeans. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three suspects were arrested Monday after reportedly shooting and injuring three women at an Oceanside shopping center.Police say Anthony Tua, 19, Deshune Bryant, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile were all arrested for the shooting.Investigators don’t believe the victims were the intended targets because the suspects reportedly shot into a large group of people. The shooting appears to be gang motivated, according to police.RELATED: Three women injured in Oceanside shooting  The shooting took place on the 3700 block of Mission Avenue at 5:15 p.m. Sunday.According to police, three women were in the front of a clothing store when three black men suddenly came up to them before shooting. (KGTV) — The Oceanside Unified School District voted Thursday to return students to an all-online learning format to prevent any coronavirus outbreaks, as cases surge throughout the state.Starting Monday, all elementary schools in the district will move to distance learning."With the recent rapid rise of COVID-19 cases, and our commitment to keep staff at home who are feeling sick, we’ve experienced a direct impact on staffing," an email from the district read late Thursday. "As a result of compounding staff shortages, we are unable to provide the amount of substitutes needed to effectively run our schools and classrooms. Additionally, we are not permitted under public health guidance to reopen our secondary campuses while we are in the most restrictive purple tier.The district said in addition to the move for elementary schools, it will delay the secondary return to in-person classes until San Diego County returns to the "red tier" of California's reopening guidelines.Secondary learning centers will continue to support students and the district's elementary enrichment program will serve students pending staffing. (KGTV) - A nonprofit stopped in San Diego Thursday to thank veterans, 1,000 feet in the sky.The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation travels the country with their Boeing Stearman PT-17 biplane, an aircraft used for training during World War II.“In that plane, they’re 19, hot, and they’re rocking it!" said volunteer Lynn Sommars. "They come back and remember the person that’s been put away for some time.”Lynn's husband Mike also volunteers for the organization as a pilot.On Thursday Mike flew eight veterans who live at La Costa Glen, a senior living community in Carlsbad.One of the veterans they flew was Lloyd Anna, who logged nearly 5,000 flight miles during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.“Oh man, I was in heaven, close to it anyway!" On Monday, McDonald's announced that they are developing a new plant-based burger, which they've coined the McPlant.They also are launching a new Crispy Chicken Sandwich in early 2021.In a blog post, the company said it would be testing a meat-free burger in several markets next year. They tried the plant-based burger in select restaurants in Canada last year."There are other plant-based burgers out there, but the McPlant delivers our iconic taste in a sink-your-teeth-in (and wipe-your-mouth) kind of sandwich," the fast-food chain said in the blog post.
