Consumers will soon be able to rent tools at Lowe's.On Wednesday, the home improvement company announced that customers would be able to borrow tools at Lowe's stores nationwide, with the first rental department rolling out Thursday in Charlotte, N.C."For all of our customers, having the right tool is key to every project, but they may not always want to purchase a new tool or piece of equipment. Lowe's Tool Rental helps customers save on the cost of owning, maintaining, and storing the tools they need," said Fred Stokes, senior vice president of Pro Sales and Services for Lowe's in a news release. "As the new home for Pros, offering tool rental is just another way we are committed to keeping them working. COLUMBUS, Ohio — Imagine this scenario, or for some of you, it's been a past reality. You're in the shower and the water suddenly shuts off. You're covered in soap. You go into distress. Then rage overcomes you.In a Facebook post, Cody Vickers documented a similar scenario that happened in Columbus while he was at a construction job. His photo shows a butt-naked man bathing in water spewing from a broken water main near North High Street in Clintonville, the Columbus Dispatch reported.He said, “It’s not every day you see a naked man come out of his house screaming and cussing ... then comes off the porch and finishes taking his shower where the excavator hit the line," in a Facebook post that has since gone viral, getting 137,000 shares and more than 14,000 likes."I was in the f****** shower. I got soap all over me," said Vickers, repeating what the man said when he was met with a trench and a fountain of water. CINCINNATI — Double majoring in neuroscience and organizational leadership is more than enough to fill the plates of most people.However, University of Cincinnati senior Megdelawit Habteselassie also finds time to serve as student body president and as a member of the UC alumni council.Students have elected other women as student body presidents before Habteselassie, who goes by her family's generational nickname of Sinna. However, she is the first African-American woman to hold the position in UC's 199-year history."I wish it happened sooner," said Habteselassie, 22, from her office in the Steger Student Life Center.The Ohio native's parents emigrated to the United States from Ethiopia more than 20 years ago. She initially planned to go into medicine but decided her passion was in social justice."I want to go into international law and perhaps work for the Gates Foundation, which does phenomenal things for sustainable development," said Habteselassie.However, for now, she is focused on her duties as student body president, which were plenty during the run-up to the university's homecoming earlier this month.She credits a strong network of women, including several mentors, for encouraging her to run."It's good to know that I am in this role because a lot of women helped me be here, and I would certainly say that if those kinds of conversations had happened sooner there probably would've been the first black woman president a lot earlier," she said.Habteselassie said studies show that women need to be asked several times before they will consider running for elected office. That was indeed the case for her, she said, but students greeted her candidacy warmly once she committed to running."It's amazing to see so many people ready for that change on our campus and to welcome me into this leadership role," Habteselassie said .Student body vice president Umaize Savani believes Habteselassie is giving a voice to those whose voices are not heard as loudly as others."To me, it shows that a change is coming to UC and to this country. I also think this reflects the changes that have taken place at UC over the last four years," Savani said.Habteselassie and Savani campaigned on a platform centered around holistic health and specifically destigmatizing issues surrounding mental health."We're working on doing a 'love yourself' campaign on campus and raising money for a mental health advocate award, and we have our co-directors of mental health awareness, who are really striving to expand what it means to be healthy," Habteselassie said.Debra Merchant, vice president of student affairs, said she believes Habteselassie is making the most of every moment."Her leadership opens 'thought doors' for everyone," Merchant said. "I'm a big believer in 'You can't be what you can't see.' Sinna's engagement with students, faculty and staff sends the important message throughout our UC community that leadership is open to all."Habteselassie has a knack for connecting with all types of students, Savani said."She knows how to speak to the student that is struggling while also being able to see eye to eye with a football player," Savani said. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Warmer ocean temperatures are being blamed after 10 to 15 people were stung by stingrays along the beach in Coronado Tuesday afternoon. According to lifeguards, 10 to 15 people were stung by the creatures after 4 p.m. Lifeguards say ocean temperatures, which reached the mid 60s Tuesday, were to blame for the increase in stingray activity. Lifeguards added that, when ocean waters warm up, it’s common to see an increase in stingray activity, but it’s unusual to see so many stings in a single day. Crews placed purple flags along the shores of Coronado Tuesday to warn of the increase, but say tourists may not know about the dangers the rays pose. The flags can also be used to warn about other creatures, such as jellyfish in the water. The California round ray is known to feed in the shallows off the California coast. Officials say the stingrays lay partially buried in the sand while hunting, making them difficult to spot for unsuspecting beachgoers. The stingray’s barb is covered in venom and mucus that causes severe pain if it breaks the skin. To avoid stepping on the rays, lifeguards recommend shuffling your feet. If you do happen to be stung, below is a list of what you should do to treat the sting: 1. Stop the bleeding.2. Go to the nearest lifeguard.3. Soak foot in hot water to deactivate venom.4.
