They'll get looked at by the MPs [Military Police] and wave them through," Capt. Gregory said.Restaurants on base are carry-out only. The chapel, tax center and gym are closed. I cannot remember in my lifetime anything that has happened on this scale," Capt. Gregory said.No tight formations, like you would see at Color Guard practice, or group meetings are allowed to comply with social distancing protocol.The base learned key practices from the CDC and Health and Human Services during the waves of Americans quarantined on base after returning from China, or a cruise. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Locals and visitors in San Diego's mountains Friday awoke to a winter wonderland of snowfall.A Thanksgiving storm brought a fresh coating of snowfall to the county's higher elevations, including areas of Julian, Descanso, Palomar Mountain, Pine Valley, and Mt. Laguna. A winter storm warning will continue through 10 p.m. Friday.San Diego mountains can expect to see about 10 to 18 inches of snow above 5,500', 10News meteorologist Megan Parry reports. Areas between 3,000 and 4,000 feet will see trace amounts to 2 inches of snow, and areas 4,000 and 4,500' can expect about 3 to 8 inches. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- It’s been nearly one year since the deadly University City poolside shooting. Kion Gould was hosting his 48th birthday party at his apartment complex. Right before the shooting began, Gould said he saw a man lying on a lounge chair by himself, so he invited him to join the festivities.That’s when the man, later identified as Peter Selis, pulled out his gun.The only thing Gould could do is raise his arm. His bone was miraculously able to stop the bullet.RELATED: Body camera footage captured during University City shooting released“I didn’t think it was a real threat until he basically raised the gun toward my head, that was the moment I realized I should have done something right before that, that’s the biggest thing that bothers me and bothers me to this day," said Gould.Police eventually shot and killed Selis after a shootout.
