"That's when everything changed. The minute I saw him flex on him, that's when he goes down because we don't get hurt."The man was treated at a local hospital, police said. Zeno said he was a visible wound on the back of this head.Charges against the man are pending, police said. It's not clear what the NYPD intends to charge him with, but the man's attorney said it's the suspended police officer who should be charged."He's an idiot and he's a bad cop and he needs to go," Zeno said. "He needs to get fired and needs to get prosecuted."Mayoral spokesperson Freddi Goldstein called the video "very concerning.""We’re glad the NYPD is immediately launching an investigation to get to the bottom of what happened," she said.Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said her office is also investigating."There must be zero tolerance for police misconduct," she tweeted. NEW YORK — Each year, twin towers of light shine into the night sky over Manhattan in honor of the thousands killed during the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, but the sky will be a little darker this year.The 'Tribute in Light' was canceled because of concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, 9/11 Memorial and Museum spokesman Michael Frazier said. The annual reading of the names was also recently canceled.“The world’s beloved twin beams of light regrettably will not shine over lower Manhattan as part of this year's tributes to commemorate 9/11," Frazier said. NEW YORK — New York’s attorney general has sent a subpoena to the Trump Organization for records related to consulting fees paid to Ivanka Trump as part of an investigation into the president’s business dealings. That's according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity. The New York Times reported that a similar subpoena was sent to President Donald Trump’s company by the Manhattan district attorney, who is conducting a parallel probe. The records requests followed recent reporting in The Times, based partly on two decades’ worth of Trump’s tax filings, that the president had reduced his company’s income tax liability over several years by deducting million in consulting fees as a business expense.Records strongly suggested, The Times reported, that 7,622 of those fees had been paid to Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, through a company she owned at a time when she was also a Trump Organization executive.If true, that wouldn’t necessarily pose a problem for Ivanka Trump herself, as long as she paid income tax on the consulting payments, which she reported publicly.It could, however, raise questions about whether the Trump Organization’s related tax deductions were allowable. NEW YORK CITY — Mayor Bill de Blaiso suggested that the snow day as we know it may be gone due to remote learning, as the city prepares for what could be it's biggest snow storm in years. The mayor announced that all schools, including in-person learning, would be open Wednesday. The mayor cited expectations that the storm will not begin to hit New York City until 4 p.m. School buses will also be in use. "School will be in session Wednesday," de Blasio said. "We do not expect the snow to even begin until school is complete tomorrow." On Thursday, there will be classes one way or the other. While the decision has not yet been made on in-person learning, all students will have the option of remote learning for Thursday regardless of how much snow the area gets.De Blasio suggested parents have an alternative ready for Thursday.
