NAIROBI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- A visiting Chinese Tibetologist delegation on Wednesday gave Kenyan lawmakers an insight into Tibet and its issues.     Shes-rab-nyi-ma, vice president of China's Central University for Nationalities and head of the Chinese delegation, introduced the basic facts of Tibet, the origin of the "Tibetan issue," the efforts the Chinese government has taken to develop the local economy and to protect the indigenous language and culture, and the system of regional autonomy for ethnic minorities in China.     Legislator Ahmed Shakeel Shabeer said many Kenyan lawmakers didn't know much about Tibet before and most of them had been influenced by western media on the Tibetan issue due to their British-style education. XI'AN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Serbian President Boris Tadic on Saturday arrived in the ancient capital Xi'an in northwest China, continuing his week-long visit to the country.     Tadic visited some well-known historic sites in the city, including Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum and the Terra-cotta Warriors.     The president hailed "Terra-cotta Warriors" as unique, saying those warriors demonstrated Chinese' delicate craftsmanship dating back more than 2000 years.     "They are so well-preserved, thus Serbia should work with China on the protection of cultural relics," Tadic said. BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Saturday called for serious study and implementation of a decision of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on strengthening and improving Party building.     The decision was adopted in mid-October at the fourth session of the 17th CPC Central Committee.     The essence of the session must be implemented in an all-out, steadfast and efficient way, said Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, while delivering a report to 1,800attendants at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.     The six pieces of experience summarized in the document are an embodiment of the endeavors of several generations of Chinese Communists in the 60 years of ruling of the Party, and are a treasure of the Party, said Xi, also president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.     The decision is focused on major issues regarding Party building, which are strategic, fundamental and urgent, he said, adding it is a major task for Party organizations of all levels to study and implement the essence of the session under the current new situation.     Central and local Party schools are a major place to train and foster Party members, leading officials and theorists, as well as study Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and the socialist theoretical system with China's characteristics, Xi said.

BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang on Friday called for global cooperation in the fight against A/H1N1 influenza, in order to better protect the people's health and lives.     Li made the remarks at the International Scientific Symposium on Influenza A/H1N1 Pandemic Response and Preparedness, hosted by China's Ministry of Health with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Lancet.
