SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are warning parents in the Carmel Valley area after a man reportedly exposed himself to students walking to school Tuesday.Police say a man was in the passenger side of a parked car on Carmel Creek Road, and exposed and touched himself inappropriately with the car door open. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Rep. Susan Davis of the 53rd Congressional District won’t seek re-election in 2020, the Congresswoman announced Wednesday. Davis was first elected to Congress in 2000. “I have struggled to make this very difficult decision. I will not seek another term in Congress. My decision today represents a desire to live and work ‘at home’ in San Diego,” she said. Davis is currently the second highest-ranking Democrat on both the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Armed Service Committee. Among measures recently supported by Davis is the Green New Deal, introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She also helped spearhead the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell,” a Clinton-era policy which allowed LGTBQ people to serve in the military only if they remained in the closet.“It makes us a better military, a better country, and I was very happy to be a part of that,” said Davis.So far, only two other candidates have officially entered the race. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a door-to-door solicitor who has prompted a string of complaints about threatening outbursts and who was seen on video taking swings at a woman in Pacific Beach.Corey Lamont Terry, 45, is wanted on felony charges of making criminal threats and attempted burglary, according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this month, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.Police have been investigating Terry since at least early November, after “several” people complained about Terry’s aggressive language while soliciting money door-to-door, according to SDPD Lt. Shawn Takeuchi.Takeuchi urged the public to call their local police agency if they spot Terry, who is about 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 220 pounds. He said residents should not approach him based on his past behavior.Terry has canvassed neighborhoods in Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach in recent weeks, claiming he is raising money for charity. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ring video captured a man leaping into action, after an incident at a neighbor's Mira Mesa home.Just off Parkdale Avenue, Rod Hutty ran to the front yard in his sandals and saw some frantic neighbors last Wednesday afternoon."I heard a scream and two women came out. One had a stick and shouted, 'Stop,'" said Hutty. Video shows what happened next. Hutty says he spotted a man in his early 20s, who started running."My adrenaline kicked in. I knew something was wrong. I shouted at him," said Hutty.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodHutty gave chase. He saw another man running in a different direction, causing Hutty to go after him. What isn't seen on camera is Hutty catching up to him."I went like this and he went like this, and grabbed him and almost took him to the ground. Then he got away," said Hutty.Hutty chased them for a bit, before heading back to get his bike. He never saw them again. Witnesses spotted a blue minivan picking up the two men. Hutty later got a visit from the Eggum family, receiving a big "thank you." Hutty's cousin placed the video on the Neighbors by Ring app."Did the best he could ... appreciate neighbors helping out," said Gordon Eggum.Eggum says his wife saw the two men lurking in the backyard after hopping the fence.
