SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man died in Fallbrook late Friday night.Deputies responded to the 440 block of Ammunition Road around 10:40 p.m. to assist the North County Fire Department with an injured man.When deputies arrived, they found a man identified as Nicolas Ramirez suffering from an unknown traumatic injury.Ramirez was then taken to the hospital where he later died. I'm also on the nextdoor app, and they said they've seen coyotes or a friend has seen coyotes snatch a dog and kill it.”Early August is also pupping season when newly-weaned coyotes venture out on their own for food and water.“Just like us, they're trying to find reprieve from the heat. Their figures for 2018 show coyote incidents are down compared to last year. In 2017, there were 142 coyote attacks. More than halfway through 2018, San Diego is on track to stay below that number, with 64 attacks.According to the website, there have been six reported pet deaths this year.“I believe we were getting one to two calls earlier this season. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The woman who stole a car with two children inside before driving to the U.S-Mexico border in 2018 has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. Police say Leslie Esparanza Saenz, 27, stole a car with an 8-year-old and 3-year-old inside outside a Cricket Wireless store on the 200 block of Euclid Avenue April 9, 2018. According to police, the children’s father parked the gold Hyundai Excel outside the store and went into the business by himself, leaving the vehicle unlocked. Moments later, Saenz got into the car and drove off on Imperial Avenue. There, federal agents who had gotten a be-on-the-lookout bulletin regarding the auto theft and kidnapping took the driver - who was later identified as Saenz -- into custody without incident. Authorities then reunited the children, who had suffered no injuries during the ordeal, with their father and returned his car to him, Roman said. 1096

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The suspect of a Spring Valley murder nearly seven years has been arrested in New York.Waverly James, 49, was arrested in New York for the Dec. 6, 2012, murder of 52-year-old Stanford Roy Johnson, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies say they were called to a home in the 9000 block of Lemon St. on Dec. 6, 2012, for a welfare check. Deputies found the rear door open and discovered Johnson dead from multiple stab wounds.James was identified as a suspect and arrested on a warrant in New York. He will be extradited to San Diego and booked for murder. 599
