ANAHEIM, Calif. (KGTV) -- Disneyland announced Monday that Oga’s Cantina will start taking reservations up to two months in advance. The resort Tweeted that, starting October 21, the cantina, along with Savi’s Workshop and the Droid Depot will begin offering the reservations up to 60 days ahead of time. The announcement was followed by a tweet announcing new food coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. “We’ve got an intergalactic shipment of several new menu items flying into the Black Spire Outpost this week, and you won’t want to miss them,” the resort said in a blog post. An Ohio company that makes bulletproof backpack shields is experiencing an increase in demand for its product due to concerns over school shootings."We've had, I would say, a 100 to 200 percent increase certainly in response," said Matt White, the director of marketing for ShotStop Ballistics, based in Stow.The backpack inserts are one-quarter inch thick and weigh about a pound. Americans will soon have one more alternative to Obamacare, thanks to the Trump administration.Officials Tuesday proposed regulations that will make it easier to obtain coverage through short-term health insurance plans by allowing insurers to sell policies that last just under a year. The new rules stem from an executive order President Donald Trump signed in October aimed at boosting competition, giving consumers more choices and lowering premiums."Americans need more choices in health insurance so they can find coverage that meets their needs," said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar. "The status quo is failing too many Americans who face skyrocketing costs and fewer and fewer choices. The Trump Administration is taking action so individuals and families have access to quality, affordable healthcare that works for them."The proposal would reverse an Obama administration decision to limit the duration of short-term health plans to no more than 90 days in order to make them less attractive.Such plans could roil the Obamacare market, drawing healthier consumers away from the exchanges and pushing up the premiums for those who remain.Short-term health plans, which have been available for years and were originally designed to fill a temporary gap in coverage, are likely to be cheaper than Obamacare policies. But that's because they don't have to adhere to Obamacare's consumer protections, allowing them to do such things as exclude those with pre-existing conditions and base rates on applicants' medical history.Also, they don't have to offer comprehensive coverage. Typically, short-term policies don't provide free preventative care or maternity, prescription drugs and mental health benefits. They can also impose annual or lifetime limits, meaning they may only pay out a set amount -- often million or less -- leaving the policyholder on the hook for the rest. And, unlike Obamacare policies, they don't have to cap consumers' cost-sharing burden at ,350 for 2018.Young and healthy folks may like these plans because they come with lower monthly premiums. But those who actually need care could find themselves having to pay more out of pocket for treatment and medications. In fact, some consumers with these plans have complained that they've been hit with unexpected expenses.Also, insurers aren't required to renew the policies so those who become sick could find themselves unable to sign up again for the same plan."People who buy short-term policies today in order to reduce their monthly premiums take a risk that, if they do need medical care, they could be left with uncovered bills and/or find themselves uninsurable under such plans in the future," wrote Karen Pollitz, senior fellow at the Kaiser Family Foundation, in a recent policy brief.Have you ever had a short-term insurance policy? It will require insurers to notify consumers that the plans are not required to comply with all of Obamacare's mandates.The administration will accept comments on the proposed rule for the next 60 days.Those with short-term policies are not considered insured under the Affordable Care Act and are subject to the penalty for not having coverage. But this will not be an issue after this year since Congress effectively eliminated the individual mandate -- which requires nearly all Americans to be insured or pay a penalty -- starting in 2019 as part of its tax overhaul bill.The proposed regulations are the latest step in the Trump administration's quest to weaken Obamacare. Last month, officials unveiled a proposed rule that would make it easier for small businesses -- and some self-employed folks -- to band together and buy health insurance. Anderson Cooper's interview with Stephanie Clifford, the adult film star known as Stormy Daniels, is set to air on "60 Minutes" on Sunday, March 25.The interview was taped last week. The air date has not been officially announced. But two sources involved with the story told CNN that it has always been slated for March 25.There have been loud calls -- particularly from Trump critics -- for CBS to televise the interview sooner, given the swirling questions about her alleged relationship with Donald Trump and her acceptance of hush money shortly before Trump was elected president. Trump's lawyer and the White House have denied allegations of an affair.The newsmagazine routinely takes weeks to edit its stories. In this case, "60 Minutes" producers wanted time to vet the allegations that Clifford leveled in the interview.There were also some practical scheduling concerns. When Cooper landed the Daniels interview, CBS had already announced an exclusive interview with the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.Norah O'Donnell's sit-down marked the first time a U.S. TV network has interviewed a Saudi leader since 2005. The hard-to-move interview is airing this Sunday.A CBS spokesman declined to comment on the Clifford interview. "60 Minutes" usually doesn't announce its stories until a few days before air.But Cooper's interview with Clifford was revealed when her publicity-savvy lawyer Michael Avenatti tweeted out a picture of them together last week.Since then, the content of the interview has been shrouded in mystery.The interview is a scoop for both Cooper and "60 Minutes." Cooper is both a full-time anchor on CNN and a part-time correspondent for "60 Minutes." He has been a contributor to the newsmagazine for over a decade.Avenatti said on CNN's "New Day" on Friday that he doesn't know the "definitive date" of the interview, but had read a Washington Post report that March 25 is the tentative date.Referring to CBS, he said, "They want to make sure they get it right. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the restaurant industry is one of the first starting to deal with a second round of closures.Restaurant owners and employees are starting to fear the losses that could come as a result. For example, the restaurant Eden in Chicago opened its doors in 2016. But the first week of March, it was on pace to have its best quarter since opening. Owner Jodi Fyfe said so much changed a week later.“At that time, we had 526 employees. If you look at it today, we have 24,” said Fyfe.In March, she had to start laying off more than 90 percent of her workers and despite reopening over the summer, she couldn't afford to keep her staff on the payroll and pay the restaurant rent.Looking at the business potential over the winter was bleak. COVID-19 cases were projected to rise, and a potential second round of restaurant closure mandates would be even more financially devastating.In August, Fyfe made a tough, but what she felt was a necessary decision.“Essentially, we had to close the restaurant and that was like a death,” she said. “It was like the death of a family member.”Fyfe focused on keeping her other business, catering, afloat, while now seeing the reality she feared. As many as 7,500 restaurants just in Illinois may have to close permanently as a result of a recent indoor dining ban.“It is becoming devastating,” said Sam Toia, who is with the Illinois Restaurant Association.Toia worries about the effect on both restaurant owners and employees.“If things don’t change with no indoor dining or no stimulus bill, 66 percent of the restaurants feel they could be out of business within the next four months,” Toia added.This week, the National Restaurant Association sent a letter to governors and mayors across the country, stating in part it has “not found any systemic outbreaks of COVID-19 from the hundreds of thousands of restaurants around the country that operate within the Association's guidance.”The association is urging officials to reconsider current bans and future ones based on the data.“We are such a vital part of serving an underserved community, finding them jobs, finding them a livelihood,” said Sean Kennedy with the National Restaurant Association. “When we shut down, a lot of folks do not have the transferable skills that they can apply elsewhere. The restaurant industry really needs to stay strong so we can take care of these people.”Roughly 2 million restaurant workers are currently out of work, and further closures mean even more will be unemployed.
