OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Forever 21 is one of a handful of stores that allows men and women to try on clothes in the same area.Now, some shoppers believe it might be time for a change.This comes after a man was charged for allegedly recording a woman and a girl inside a Forever 21 changing room at the Overland Park mall.“For a place like this, I don't think that's appropriate at all to have men, women and children in the same dressing room at all,” said Jaymee Henderson, who shops at Forever 21.Scripps station KSHB in Kansas City sat down with an attorney to find out what the laws are when it comes to recording video in a clothing store like this.Attorney Bernie Rhodes said anything within the store is fair game."If I want to walk into a Forever 21 store and put my cell phone in my breast pocket and film my interaction with the sales clerk, that's perfectly legal,” said Rhodes.But once you get to the dressing room area, the rules change."What a store can't do is install a security camera in the bathroom or dressing rooms because there we have what we call an expectation of privacy. The same is true for perverts,” said Rhodes.Rhodes said a person can record themselves in the dressing room with their own device.In the Forever 21 dressing rooms, there is a large gap between the floor and the fitting room wall. That’s how prosecutors allege a man took video of a girl and a woman on his cell phone.A petition on Change.org is calling on the store to separate their dressing rooms by gender, but Rhodes believes that change won’t prevent people from breaking the law."It falls upon the individual who is acting illegally, he or she knows what they're doing is wrong. You can make the wall go all the way to the floor and they'll drill a hole in it,” said Rhodes.He says privacy laws can be violated anywhere, not just in the dressing room at a clothing store."Unfortunately, it does happen more often than we'd like to think,” said Rhodes.KSHB reached out to Forever 21 to find out if they intend to make changes to their fitting rooms, we have not heard back. 2102

(AP) — A convicted felon has been charged with abducting two Christian college students and forcing them to perform sex acts on each other at gunpoint after they violated curfew and were locked out of their southwest Missouri campus.Robert Hyslop, 49, of Branson, Missouri, is jailed without bond on charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse and sodomy, the Springfield News-Leader reported. No attorney is listed for Hyslop in online court records. He could face life in prison if convicted.College of the Ozarks, in the small town of Point Lookout, has a 1 a.m. curfew. Hyslop allegedly used a hammer to smash the passenger window, showed a gun, and got inside the car.Luttrell said Hyslop admitted forcing the male student to drive to a highway lookout. Once there, he allegedly forced the students to perform sex acts on each other, and forced the woman to touch him sexually.Hyslop then told the students to drive him back to his car, Luttrell wrote. The students contacted police and gave a detailed description of their attacker and his vehicle. He was arrested several days later. Charges were filed Thursday.College of the Ozarks spokeswoman Valorie Coleman said the college received a report about the incident on Oct. 29 and issued a campus safety alert on Oct. 30. (KGTV) — Border Patrol officers in the South Bay made a spicy discovery in a shipment of peppers this week.Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a 37-year-old Mexican national enterting through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in a tractor pulling a trailer of cargo. The cargo listed jalape?o peppers on the manifest.Upon secondary inspection, a canine team alerted agents to the shipment. Officer say they discovered 314 large, wrapped packages of marijuana, weighing about 7,560 pounds. The narcotics are valued at .3 million.“I am proud of the officers for seizing this significant marijuana load,” said Otay Mesa Port Director, Rosa Hernandez. “Not only did they prevent the drugs from reaching our community, they also prevented millions of dollars of potential profit from making it into the hands of a transnational criminal organization.”The seizure followed another massive bust on Aug. 13, in which officers discovered 10,642 pounds of marijuana concealed in a shipment of plastic auto parts at the same cargo facility. 1063
