The company posted on its website Saturday that the centers will offer water, snacks, phone charging, ice, water trucks for livestock and up-to-date outage information. As of 1 p.m. Saturday, less than 1,000 remained without power in San Diego County. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Renters in the city of San Diego will have one final day to apply for emergency financial assistance.The deadline to apply for the city’s one-time program, which provides up to ,000 per household, is Friday, Aug. 7.Families with past due or upcoming rent payments are eligible, and payments for those who are selected are expected to be distributed in the next few weeks.Each household has to provide documentation to prove they are not currently receiving any rental subsidies. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego is already known as "America's Finest City," but it's the region's craft beer heritage that fans say make it "America's Hoppiest City."San Diego's East Village will pay homage to the area's craft beer past, present, and future with the Museum of Beer (MoB), slated to be introduced in spring/summer 2020.MoB will highlight beer, beer history, and the brewing process through high-tech, immersive, and hands-on exhibits, according to the museum. Virtual reality-based exhibits will also walk guests through a brewhouse, beer festival, and bring them face-to-face with iconic, San Diego brewers.Guests will learn about how beer is made, styles of beer, and, of course, San Diego's place in craft beer history. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego area firefighters are being thanked for their hard work with free admission to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.Firefighters and up to three guests will receive free one-day admission to the Escondido park in September.The deal is being offered by California Coast Credit Union and San Diego Zoo Global.“Firefighters are true heroes and we are proud to join San Diego Zoo Global in recognizing them for their tremendous efforts to keep us all safe from fires,” said Cal Coast President & CEO Todd Lane. “As part of our partnership with the City of San Diego, we will continue to look for ways to serve and support San Diego Fire Department personnel.”The fast response of San Diego County firefighters was critical in putting out the Pasqual, Rangeland and Cloverdale Fires near the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police officers will increase patrols near area houses of worship following Saturday's deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.SDPD Chief David Nisleit advised there are no indications of any threats with a connection to San Diego, but out of an abundance of caution, patrols would be increased."We are monitoring the situation in Pittsburgh and communicating with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners. At this time, there is nothing to indicate a connection to San Diego. However, in an abundance of caution, you will see extra patrols at houses of worship," Nisleit tweeted. 642
