I used a mail order bride website called Elenasmodels.com. Even though they used the term ‘mail order,’ no one actually arrives in the mail,” Farley said.The website delivered a match. She was 20, he was 42. Despite the age difference, they thought they'd give it a shot.“We stayed in touch. I sent her about 250 questions about family life, how many kids you'd want to have, other aspects and she answered all of them,” Farley said. Farley later flew to Turkey to meet her parents and after a three-year courtship, they married at the Towson courthouse. Within two weeks of getting married, Farley said his wife's behavior completely changed."The arguments and insults," said Farley. "And the spending was incredible. We went to places like Walmart and she would spend 0. We went to Bed Bath & Beyond and she spent 0. I don't remember how much we spent at Ikea."He says the spending continued, as well as the insults, until he hit his breaking point three months into the marriage.His wife wanted a new coat. Boeing has developed a software patch and pilot training program to address issues with the Boeing 737 MAX identified in the October Lion Air crash, the Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday.The FAA and other airplane regulators worldwide grounded the 737 MAX a week ago following a crash in Ethiopia. The agency said data and physical evidence shows similarities between the Ethiopian Airlines crash and the Lion Air crash less than six months ago.On Wednesday, the FAA provided an incremental update on its fix to the plane, which it has previously said will be rolled out "no later than April 2019.""The FAA is aware that Boeing is developing a Service Bulletin that would specify the installation of new flight control computer operational program software," the FAA said in an international notice."Boeing has also developed flightcrew training related to this software," it said. "The FAA's ongoing review of this software installation and training is an agency priority, as will be the roll-out of any software, training, or other measures to operators of the 737 MAX."The FAA has previously said the updates will address the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, known as MCAS. Are technology features in new cars making drivers more complacent behind the wheel?One psychiatrist is raising concerns about choosing to have the latest technology versus staying focused, and thus safer."Some of the technology seems to be added to cars just for the sake of technology and not with a lot of thought process into how it's going to change the behavior of driving and the skills required to drive," said Dr. Vatsal Thakkar, a clinical assistant professor at NYU.Thakkar believes that modern automated technology could cause drivers to become less aware of their surroundings. He even thinks drivers should start driving cars with manual transmissions so that all focus would be on the road."Driving a stick shift vehicle is one of the purest forms of the marriage of man and machine," Thakkar said.According to AAA's annual automated vehicle survey, drivers who have advanced driver assistance systems are 68 percent more likely to trust the feature than drivers who don't have them.But Michael Formanowicz, the Manager of AAA's driving department in Amherst, New York, said that while these features help you spot trouble earlier — like lane departure assistance or blind spot detection — it's still up to the driver to take the necessary corrective action."All of a sudden, the lane departure warning goes off, you've still got to be able to guide that car back into your lane," he said.Formanowicz said motorists need to have a better understanding of their vehicles than just what each feature does.AAA's survey shows that the automatic emergency breaking feature, which is in 93 percent of new cars, has 40 names.Andrew Streit of Steven's Driving School in western New York said while these features are a huge help to drivers, they should never take the place of basic driving skills."The back up cameras and the lane changing censors and things like that, it's a lot of complacency where people feel like they don't have to pay attention as much as they probably should," he said.
