People with existing health problems, especially older adults, can sometimes experience sudden liver shutdowns, according to Mayo Clinic. Hepatitis A is normally transmitted through small particles of feces that remain on an infected person's hands after using the restroom. Parents deported from the US while their children were left behind is what experts think has happened to hundreds of families.A court-appointed steering committee began trying to reach the families of more than 1,000 migrant children two years ago.That's after a federal court ordered the reunification of many families that had been separated at the border under the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy in 2018.According to a court filing Tuesday, the committee has been unable to reach the parents of 545 children.It believes most of them were deported without their children, and those children are still in the US with a sponsor.The Justice Department and the American Civil Liberties Union are leading the effort to locate the parents.The ACLU points out some of the children were babies when they were taken away from their families. 858

OTAY MESA, Calif. (KGTV) — Six correctional officers and two inmates at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility were hospitalized Sunday after officials said a group of prisoners attacked the officers in a recreation yard.The incident was reported at the prison just before 4 p.m., according to the California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation. About 20 inmates were in the facility's recreation yard when some began to attack the officers.The six officers suffered stab wounds, lacerations, and possible broken bones and were taken to a nearby hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.Two inmates were also taken to outside hospitals for treatment. Other inmates involved were taken to the prison's medical facility for treatment.Officials are not sure how many inmates were involved in the attack, but say that they ignored commands to stop, forcing less-lethal measures to be used. A warning shot was fired and additional officers responded to the yard.Several weapons were reportedly recovered at the scene.The four suspects were identified as Joe Mendez, 39, Luis Delgado, 24, Michael Figueroa, 20, and William Barba, 41. Those involved could also face charges of attempted murder of a peace officer.Nearly one year ago, five inmates were injured in a riot involving about 80 inmates at the prison. Prior to that, three inmates suffered stab wounds in a seven-on-one fight in the facility in April 2019. In February 2019, a fight between 50 inmates left at least 10 prisoners injured.According to the prison's reports online, 204 use of force incidents were reported in 2019. Due to the pandemic, this year’s event was canceled, so a salon in Palm Harbor, Florida decided to do their own internal competition.They aren’t just hairdos, they are works of art at Salon Bella Flora.“I kept getting the comments like, ‘Are you kidding me, this is awesome,'” said owner Flora Paskalakis Stoltz.Before Stoltz owned her own salon, she was traveling the world, cutting and combing hair, against the best of the best.“When you are at the world championships, it’s like being in a huge stadium and there’s hundreds of competitors competing at one time and it's intense,” said Stoltz.So as a way to boost staff morale during a difficult year, she decided to hold her own competition.
