(KGTV) - California residents are feeling the crunch of rising home costs, so much so that many have considered moving out of the state, according to a poll from UC Berkeley.A new study from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies revealed about 48 percent of California voters described housing affordability as an "extremely serious" problem in their area, with 36 percent saying it's "somewhat serious."RELATED: San Diego's housing crisis prompts M trust fund for affordable housingPerhaps more alarming, the issue has caused about 56 percent of voters to consider moving from their area, a quarter of those respondents saying they would likely leave the state. (KGTV) - Federal investigators are asking for possible victims of a convicted child predator and retired Vista school district high school teacher to come forward. Tay Cooper, 67, pleaded guilty in 2018 to possessing child pornography. He was sentenced to one year in federal prison and seven years of supervised release. The judge ordered Cooper to pay ,000 in restitution to the four victims identified in the images and videos. Last September, Homeland Security Investigations agents received information from a potential victim who accused Cooper of sexual abuse. The woman says Cooper abused her for eight years when she was a child. RELATED: Former City Heights teacher sentenced for receiving child pornography“Unfortunately child predators don’t usually stop. I don’t know if that’s going to be the case here with Mr. Cooper but we have to do our due diligence to find that out," said Cher Durst, HSI Assistant Special Agent in Charge.Investigators worry there could be more victims due to Cooper's extensive teaching career, which includes 20 years at Rancho Buena Vista High School. Also of concern was that Cooper was a beloved teacher, winning Teacher of the Year two years in a row while in Los Angeles County. "He chaperoned trips, he initiated clubs, things of that nature in the school, which gave him really unlimited access to children in those school districts," said Durst. "Internet crimes against children are a priority for HSI, and public tips are key to uncovering the layers, locating victims and bringing predators to justice for these heinous crimes." (KGTV) — A man has died after falling into a river at Yosemite National Park on Christmas Day.Few details about the man's death were released Friday by the park. A park spokesman told the AP that a statement was not issued sooner and the investigation was taking longer than usual because of the government shutdown.The man reportedly suffered a head injury on Dec. 25 in the Silver Apron area, between Vernal and Nevada Falls, according to ABC affiliate KGO.RELATED: Government shutdown affecting air travel, national park safetyPark rangers arrived at the scene within an hour and removed the man from the water. Though they began first aid immediately, the man died from his injuries.The death is the third at a national park since the government shutdown began. (KGTV) - Does a picture going around online really show a clear pumpkin pie?Yes, although it's a couple years old.The unusual pie is the work of Chicago chef Simon Davies who is a master of molecular gastronomy.In 2017, he used a rotary evaporator to turn pumpkin pie filling into water vapor.That vapor was then collected and put into a clear gelatin along with sugar.The result was a clear pumpkin pie that reportedly tasted amazingly close to the real thing. 469
