NASHVILLE, Tenn. - We’ve known for months about the dangers of the coronavirus spreading in crowded public places but we are now learning new information about the danger of COVID-19 spreading inside your home.The new study from Vanderbilt University Medical Center reveals how vulnerable family members can be inside a home where someone has contracted the coronavirus."What we found is COVID spreads very rapidly and very quickly inside a home," said Dr. Keipp Talbot of Vanderbilt University Medical Center.Just how fast? The study found half of all family members in a home with someone infected with COVID-19 will also get COVID-19, usually within just five days."Once it's in your house, it's very hard to keep from spreading, and you don't know who in your home will be susceptible, and they'll need to be hospitalized," Talbot said.The research adds a new dimension to public health guidelines that largely focus on social distancing outside your home -- guidelines that doctors say work if everyone in the home follows those guidelines while outside."However, if you or anyone in the family goes outside the bubble, and does anything that's risky -- large groups, bars, not wearing your mask -- they can come back into that bubble and put everyone in that bubble at risk," Talbot said.This story was first reported by Jason Lamb at WTVF in Nashville, Tennessee. 1379

More than 20 fire departments are working to burn down a Beaver Dam, Wisconsin apartment building where a deadly explosion happened last week. City officials said dangerous chemicals inside of the structure made it too dangerous for residents to re-enter, and that burning the building to the ground is the safest way to prevent any injuries."We have carefully reviewed this, and we firmly believe this is the action that needs to be taken, unfortunately," said Beaver Dam Fire Chief Alan Mannel at a Wednesday evening news conference. The five, neighboring buildings in the apartment complex were evacuated ahead of Thursday's controlled burn. Streets in the area were shut down at 9 a.m.Around 10 o'clock, firefighters lit both ends of the apartment building at 109 Knaup Dr. on fire and allowed it to burn towards the middle. Large shipping containers were placed around building 109 to help contain the heat and flames. Mannel said staffing of the fire trucks surrounding the building is minimal, and that firefighters only plan to step in and control the flames if they threatened any of the nearby structures. Police on Wednesday identified 28-year old Benjamin Morrow as the man killed in last Monday's blast. According to authorities, Morrow lived in one of the units.Beaver Dam Police Chief John Kreuziger said investigators continue to suspect that Morrow was building a bomb inside of the apartment. According to his obituary, Morrow worked in the quality department at Richelieu Foods in Beaver Dam for almost a year. His obituary describes him as "a hard worker" who "had a good rapport with all those around him."Police and the FBI continue to investigate why Morrow was in possession of the volatile chemicals that required them to eventually burn the building down.Kreuziger on Wednesday declined to comment on what the chemicals inside of the apartment were. City officials said the plan is for evacuated residents to be allowed back into their homes this evening. That's also when they plan to re-open nearby streets. The EPA has placed air monitoring devices in the area. Mannel said the EPA can also test the air in individual apartments within the evacuation zone at the request of residents. 2336

Natalie Portman has decided against traveling to Jerusalem to receive the Genesis Prize, the foundation behind the award announced.The Genesis Prize Foundation said Thursday that a representative for the actress informed the organization that "recent events in Israel have been extremely distressing to her and she does not feel comfortable participating in any public events in Israel" and that "she cannot in good conscience move forward with the ceremony."Dubbed "the Jewish Nobel," the Genesis Prize "honors extraordinary individuals who serve as an inspiration to the next generation of Jews through their outstanding professional achievement and commitment to the Jewish people and Jewish values, such as social justice, tolerance and charity."Portman, who was born in Jerusalem, was named the 2018 Genesis Prize laureate in November. The honor includes a prize of million. NASA announced Monday that two new studies show that there may be more water on the moon than previously thought.In a press conference, NASA said that two studies published in the journal Nature Astronomy said that data gathered by a lunar orbiter and an airborne telescope detected the presence of molecular water molecules on the sunlit surface of the moon.Previously, NASA speculated that most of the water on the moon was located on the shadowy surface that is not lit by the sun.The study opens the possibility of using that water as a resource, allowing for longer missions on the moon's surface that would require astronauts to live there for extended periods of time. 683
