CORONADO, Calif. -- A distracted school bus driver is being blamed for a chain-reaction crash that injured students on their way home.According to the CHP, just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, a bus carrying about 50 Coronado Middle School students rear-ended a truck that was stopped at a light, which hit another truck.Afterwards, Coronado's police chief and other officers handed out water because the bus was stuffy.There were no serious injuries, but six or seven students did complain of some pain.  It's unclear how many were taken to the hospital.The CHP says the preliminary cause is unsafe speed. CINCINNATI -- When police were sent to Seven Hills School on Tuesday afternoon, they were told a female caller was stuck in a van.The GPS coordinates on that call were within feet of where Kyle Plush, a 16-year-old male student, would be found dead hours later.Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac hasn't yet talked publicly about what happened that day. The police department, which touts itself as a model for transparency, has been quiet about Plush's death. They're planning to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. Thursday.Nearly two days after he suffocated, numerous questions remain about what went wrong and why a teenage boy is dead even as he pleaded with a 911 operator to send help.What we know, and don't knowPlush called 911 at about 3:16 p.m. Tuesday. He knew he was in trouble but struggled to communicate with the operator. Over the course of a three-minute call in which he gasped, cried repeatedly for help, he relayed that he was trapped inside his car in the parking lot of Seven Hills School.Through Plush's cries for help, the 911 operator indicated the caller was female.TIMELINE: What happened the day Kyle Plush died?A computer-aided dispatch report contained latitude-longitude coordinates on that call. Notes in that report indicated the call may have come from the "thrift store parking lot across the street." COLTON, Calif. (KGTV) - At least five people died Friday afternoon in a fiery crash on Interstate 10 in the San Bernardino County community of Rialto, KABC reported.The California Highway Patrol indicated at least three vehicles and two trucks were involved in the crash that left wreckage on both sides of the freeway at Riverside Ave. about 1 p.m.A big rig heading west veered toward the median, crashed through the center divider and burst into flames, KTLA reported. The truck kept moving across eastbound lanes, striking several vehicles.Five people were killed. The truck driver received only minor injuries and another driver was able to walk away from the crash.After a nearly 16-hour shutdown of the highway, all lanes were reopened Saturday morning, KABC said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.Check traffic HERE.  865

John McCain personally as his bus driver.“Driving the 'Straight Talk Express Coach' for Senator McCain,” Frierson told WCPO. “Got started in 2000. I was a backup driver.”  By February 2008, though, when McCain was running for president and made a campaign stop for a rally at Memorial Hall, Frierson was behind the wheel and standing beside the door when McCain got off the bus.McCain had called him in 2007 to take over, Frierson said.Frierson said he liked that McCain called him by his nickname.“He always called me 'Fry,' ” Frierson said.Frierson flipped through a scrapbook and saw himself in several photos and newspaper articles with McCain, who died Saturday after a long fight with brain cancer.“Felt honored," Frierson said. One picture in a newspaper clipping from Aug. 29, 2008 showed McCain and Frierson sitting side by side at a Skyline Chili. CINCINNATI (AP) — The Hall of Fame second baseman Joe Morgan has died at the age of 77.A family spokesman says he died at his home Sunday in Danville, California.Morgan was suffering from a nerve condition, a form of polyneuropathy. He became the sparkplug of the Big Red Machine and the prototype for baseball’s artificial turf era.Morgan was a two-time NL Most Valuable Player, a 10-time All-Star, and won five Gold Gloves.
