A preschool teacher was arrested on Wednesday after deputies say admitted to biting a 2-year-old student on the face.Heather Marcotte, 28, has been arrested on a charge of felony cruelty to a juvenile in Louisiana.The mother of a 2-year-old student called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office saying that when she picked her son up from school, she noticed the bite mark on his cheek.The mother said an administrator at the school informed her that her son’s teacher reported that she left the mark on the child "when her mouth accidentally hit his face" and that the teacher had been terminated following the incident, according to the Sheriff's office.Marcotte admitted to deputies that she bit the child after she became frustrated and agitated with his behavior. A warrant was obtained for her arrested and she was taken into custody.Northlake Christian says it takes kids as young as six weeks old and is a “special place where your child will be loved and nurtured,” according to the Associated Press.In a statement to the Associated Press, Head of School Monty Fontenot says: “We’ve handled it internally and there’s no further comment.”Mary Stringini is a digital reporter for ABC Action News. A new video is sparking debate on whether a father went too far in disciplining his daughter for bullying.“My beautiful daughter is going to walk 5 miles to school in 36-degree weather,” says the Matt Cox, in a video posted to his Facebook page.It's the latest example of a parent shaming their child.In the video, Cox explains his 10-year-old daughter was suspended from riding the school bus for a second time after bullying another student. So, instead of driving her, he made her walk 5 miles to school.“I know a lot of you parents are not going to agree with this, but that is alright, because I am doing what I feel is right to teach my daughter a lesson,” Cox says.The father has received both support and criticism online, but experts say shaming can negatively impact a child.“What happens is the child incorporates that negative image of themselves and that can cause a lot of problems,” says Dr. Robert Sege.Those problems include depression and anxiety, says Dr. Sege, who co-wrote the American Academy of Pediatrics Policy on discipline. The policy takes a strong stance against spanking.Effective discipline varies by age, but Dr. Sege says there's a common factor that parents should apply to children of all ages.“That's the bottom line message that parents should be consistently sending to their children when they misbehave,” says Dr. Sege. “That they know their children are capable of good behavior. A Southwest Airlines plane flying from Fort Lauderdale to BWI was hit by a pickup truck after landing at the airport.  It happened early Monday morning.   Passengers said the white truck crashed into the side of the plane on the runway.  An ambulance was at the scene, but according to passengers, no one was injured.  Passengers were not allowed to leave while crews continued their investigation.  Southwest Airlines has not released any comment but the company did respond to a tweet from one of the passengers on the plane.  A passenger named Michael Simon posted this tweet: "So our southwest flight just got into an accident with a pickup truck. Guess that makes me an airplane crash survivor."  874

A principal at Education Alternatives in Bedford, Ohio is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student at the school, who was 17 at the time."He says the relationship started when they were upstairs in the gym alone, that she kissed him on the mouth," said Bedford Police Deputy Chief Rick Suts. "Since then, there had been numerous encounters in her van."The teenager told police that his relationship with Courtney Alfred continued for months.Police said the former student came to them last week. Suts said the school knew about the alleged relationship but after their own investigation said the allegations were not credible. Bedford police disagree."He's saying that he took video of them having sex and in that encounter, you see a tattoo. We got a search warrant to see her tattoo, that tattoo matches the one on the video," added Suts.Police said there were also text messages and that money was transferred from Alfred to the teenager. Police said the teen told them it was to keep him from telling her husband.Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland tried to contact Alfred at her home, but there was no answer. WEWS also called the central office for Education Alternatives, but the call was not returned. WEWS also left two messages for her attorney, Vince Ruffa, but Ruffa also did not return messages.Alfred was arrested. She was in court last week facing a sexual battery charge.
