California, get ready for nonstop flights to Hawaii on Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines announced on Thursday that four California cities will serve nonstop flights to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu (HNL), Kahului Airport on Maui (OGG), Lihue Airport on Kauai (LIH), and Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA). Southwest Airlines plans to fly to those Hawaiian cites from Oakland Metropolitan Airport (OAK), San Diego International Airport (SAN), Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF). The Texas-based airline plans to sell tickets to Hawaii sometime in 2018. The service plans are pending FAA approval. 743
Calling up a restaurant to order takeout is so old school. Now, there are apps that allow you to skip the phone call and get your food delivered straight to your door with just a few taps on a phone screen. We looked at some of the top food delivery apps to find out which is the best one to download. The apps include Postmates, Uber Eats, Door Dash and Eat 24.All four apps have slight differences when it comes to restaurants, fees and how easy they are to use. Not every app has the same restaurants on them, so you might have to use an app that has the restaurant of your liking.Door Dash was the simplest app to use because there weren’t that many choices or suggestions to help you choose what to eat.Eat 24, like many of the other apps offered food categories like American, Asian and Mexican to help you narrow down your choices. We found when placing your order on each app you had to add your credit card and address, but for Uber Eats you did not. If you have an Uber Ride Share account, it's automatically synced up to that app. It cut the ordering time in half if you were a new user.Although we used Postmates for ordering food, we learned you can use the app for ordering anything. Some use Postmates to order clothes to be picked up or getting an item from the drug store delivered to their house. No matter which app you use there’s a place to save money by adding a promo code. But, you’ll need to watch out for hidden service fees outside of the usual delivery and tax fee.A great feature all the apps have are alerts or push notifications letting you know where your food is and when it will be delivered.Almost every app delivered the food we ordered 10 minutes earlier than their estimated arrival time. Uber Eats delivered right on schedule. After testing out each food delivery app, we concluded it’s best to download a few apps to meet all your needs. 1893

By JOYCE M. ROSENBERG and KEN SWEET AP Business WritersNEW YORK (AP) — Americans are likely to see more "for rent" signs in the coming months. That's because many businesses devastated by the coronavirus pandemic are expected to abandon offices and storefronts. The changes are happening because more employees are working from home, and more people are shopping online. The result could bring an end to the long boom in the nation's commercial real estate market. Hotels, restaurants and stores that closed in March have seen only a partial return of customers. Many of them may fail. Commercial landlords have reported an increase in missed rent payments. They expect vacancies to rise through the end of the year. 724
Cellphone video from Friday night shows a firework going into the stands at Busch Stadium. It was recorded after the Cardinals win over the Chicago Cubs on July 27 during a scheduled “Fireworks Night” display after the game.“It just seemed like it went straight up in the air and came straight down in front us, hit a chair and some kind of rupture right in front of us,” said Natalie Carlson, who was in the stands. She said it took a moment for people to figure out what happened.“Everybody was just kind of shocked, I grabbed my friends and was like 'everybody scoot back, get under something just in case it happens again,” she added. She said they stayed and watched the entire show, not fearing for their safety. 723
Can you spot a fake? Some US Customs and Border Protection officers did -- in September, they intercepted a shipment of over over 9,000 counterfeit Nike sneakers in New York, the agency said in a news release. The shipment of shoes had come from China and was headed to California, when CBP officers inspected it at the Port of New York/Newark.They thought something looked off about the shoes, and submitted images to the CBP's Apparel Footwear and Textiles Center for Excellence and Expertise, the agency's trade experts. On Thursday, the agency concluded the shoes were counterfeit and seized them. Real versions of the sneakers would have been worth nearly .7 million, according to CBP."This significant seizure of counterfeit Nike sneakers illustrates Customs and Border Protection's continued commitment to protecting the American consumer against the proliferation of substandard and potentially unsafe counterfeit consumer goods," stated Troy Miller, Director of CBP's New York Field Office, said in a statement Tuesday. On a typical day in 2017, CBP seized .3 million worth of products with Intellectual Property Rights violations in a day, according to the agency."Enforcing Intellectual Property Rights laws is a CBP priority trade mission," said Miller. "We will continue to work closely with our trade and law enforcement partners to identify and seize counterfeit merchandise that could potentially harm US consumers and businesses." 1460
