Plano police remain on a mass shooting scene on Monday in Plano, Texas, where eight people -- including the suspect -- are dead.The shooting occurred at a home on West Spring Creek Parkway around 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening. That's where officers found seven dead bodies, and two others with gunshot wounds; those two were taken to the hospital.Plano officers confronted the suspect inside the home, where they shot and killed him. The officer who fired the shots has been placed on administrative leave. The Texas Rangers were also on scene investigating the shooting.The area around the shooting was closed Monday morning as police continue to investigate the scene. They are looking into a motive and the suspect's relation to the victims. 747

I would ask that you reserve judgment or comment on this case until you actually see the evidence presented by the parties.In the event that you will not, I understand that a person unfamiliar with most of the facts in this case, and a person unfamiliar with the obligations that individuals are under when they give deposition testimony, might perceive Mr. Ryan’s statement as noteworthy. It is not. First, as I doubt you’re aware, Mr. Evans himself has testified – unequivocally and under oath – that Mr. Ryan is not racist and was his friend; so whatever point Mr. Evans is trying to make by leaking deposition testimony to you is undone by his own words. Second, this testimony is not Founders’ defense in this case as you allege. Founders evaluated and decided to terminate Mr. Evans based only on his job performance. Mr. Evans’ poor job performance will be apparent when Founders files its upcoming motion. Third, through this testimony, Mr. Ryan was simply saying that he does not assume anything about individuals’ race or ethnicity unless they tell him that information. While it might be acceptable to speculate about this type of thing in casual conversation, Mr. Ryan was not having a casual conversation. He was under oath when he made these statements. As all deponents are instructed, Mr. Ryan was directed not to guess, assume or speculate in his deposition. This is the reason for his answer.The fact that Mr. Evans is selectively leaking this type of information to you indicates that, unlike Founders, he has no evidence to support his position in this case. Pink ice is causing the scientific community some concern. The Presena Glacier in northern Italy appears pink because of algae on it, which scientists say could speed up melting of the ice.The Presena Glacier is in the Alps, just south of Italy’s border with Switzerland. While there is debate about where the algae came from, Biagio Di Mauro of Italy’s National Research Council told The Guardian the pink snow observed on parts of the Presena glacier is likely caused by the same plant found in Greenland. 515

Police in Ohio are looking for thieves who made away with massive amounts of candy at a Garfield Heights convenience store.According to detectives, a Cleveland-area Speedway convenience store has been robbed of tens of thousands of dollars in sweets.Garfield Heights Police said they have been working this case since June.“We're getting calls after the fact because when they're doing their inventory, then they're discovering the shortage,” said Detective Phillip Herron.The surveillance video shows the robber walking in, followed by several other people.“This guy’s got a bag, he's shoving all kinds of candy and there's a lot of people in that store, and not one person has called us, alerted us,” said Herron.The manage of the Speedway declined to comment on the robberies. Herron said the manager has also declined to speak to police.“As far as getting cooperation from employees in the store, we're not getting a lot of cooperation,” he said.So where is all this candy going? Herron said the robbers are most likely not eating it all, but reselling it.“Either take that candy and resell it to a store,” he said. “We got information from other cities that, some of these inner-city stores are buying the stolen candy for pennies on the dollar and they'll be able to resell it and make a bigger profit.”Back in July of 2016, thieves stole hundreds of dollars worth of candy at the Speedway in nearby Berea. Police in Middleburg Heights, another nearby Cleveland suburb, also confirmed a similar robbery earlier this year.The detective said the black market is becoming a bigger business on the streets.
