CAPE TOWN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The ministers in charge of health affairs in China and African countries on Tuesday stressed the importance of establishing a resilient public health system in Africa, especially the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention, both in the African Union, as well as in individual countries.

"The fundamental way out for China's development is reform. China will never close the door that it has opened to the world, but will do more in opening up," President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday during his state visit to the United States.

According to a statement issued after the session, members of the CPPCC suggested that China research, promote and supervise GM crops from the perspective of overall national interest and long-term development.
