A doctor with the Oregon Health Authority is getting attention after she wore clown make-up during a recent video update on the state’s coronavirus cases.Dr. Claire Poché starts out the video update like any other, stating her name, introducing her colleague who joins the video later and then giving an update on Oregon’s COVID-19 numbers.“As of today there have been 38,160 cases in Oregon, with 390 cases being reported today. Sadly, we are also reporting 3 deaths today, bringing the statewide total of COVID related deaths to 608,” Dr. Poché said in an October 14 video, while visually looking like a clown.She is wearing white and red make-up on her face made up to look like a clown, in addition to a polka dot shirt, bright red tie and yellow pants.Dr. Poché does not reference the make-up on her face, or offer an explanation for her look.The video cuts to another doctor with the Oregon Health Authority, also wearing a costume, who talks about safe ways to celebrate Halloween with pandemic safety precautions in mind.At this point, viewers might start making the assumption the costume and Dr. Poché’s make-up are part of a coordinated plan for Halloween.About 10 minutes into the video, the two colleagues reference their costumes and talk about their Halloween plans. 1289

A brush fire had closed a stretch of Interstate 95 northbound and southbound in northern Indian River County, Florida on Monday morning. The highway reopened at 8:15 a.m. Delays are occurring from Fellsmere Road to the Indian River/Brevard County line in both directions.  This is about a 15- to 20-mile stretch.The helicopter for Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach flew over the area at 6:40 a.m. and spotted a large amount of smoke blowing onto the interstate.  526

A helicopter crash killed all 18 people aboard Saturday in a remote area in Russia's Siberia region, state media reported.The helicopter crashed immediately after takeoff in the small Arctic town of Igarka, in the Krasnoyarsk area, after colliding in midair with another helicopter's suspended cargo, state-run TASS news agency reported.It was carrying three crew members and 15 workers from an oil field in the area, Russia's Sputnik news agency said. 460

A man shot by a Cuyahoga County, Ohio Sheriff's deputy near Cleveland on I-90 on Thursday has died.The medical examiner identified the man as Brett Luengo, 33, of Westlake, Ohio. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated, expired and pronounced dead last night. Luengo was a prominent businessman who was the CEO and Vice President of ConstructAbility Inc., a construction services firm in Westlake.The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce awarded ConstructAbility with an award in 2017.The shooting took place along Interstate 90 near West Boulevard Thursday evening.The scene led to a major police presence and traffic back-up in the eastbound lanes between West 44th Street and West Boulevard.The deputy involved was not injured.Witnesses say the incident started after a single-vehicle crash. The driver then got out of the SUV and was acting both erratically and violently to those trying to help him. Authorities say he was involved in an altercation when the deputy exited his own vehicle. When the deputy approached, the sheriff said Luengo "charged (the deputy) in an aggressive manner.""He kept screaming to shoot him. The cop kept asking him to roll over, put your hands behind your back. The man was not cooperating. He kept trying to get up and attack the police officer, he kept lunging at him," witness Jason Geiger said. "I think what happened at that point he ran out of taser cartridges because at that point he shot the guy."Authorities say the deputy fired one shot. A Buckeye, Arizona man on active duty with the United States Air Force was booked into jail this week on second-degree murder charges after the death of his infant. On June 13, 2017, Phoenix Police responded to a report of a 3-month-old boy who was pronounced dead at Phoenix Children's Hospital. According to police paperwork, 25-year-old John Centano, the child's father, said he was home alone with the baby for about 20 minutes before he found him unresponsive on the master bed. He said it was about a minute or two after he left the child alone, face-down on the bed, to quickly grab shower items from the hallway bathroom. According to staff at the emergency room, Centano reportedly said he took a shower and returned to find the child unresponsive. An autopsy was performed on the child and his death was ruled a homicide due to complications with head trauma and other internal injuries. Investigators found evidence at the home suggesting that no shower items were retrieved from the hallway bathroom. Police say Centano made several inconsistent statements, including blaming their large dogs for the child's injuries. Centano was arrested on Tuesday and booked into jail on felony counts of second-degree murder and child abuse. Police documents show that Centano was employed with the United States Air Force on active duty.  1422
