SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating the murder of a man stabbed in the chest during a fight in San Diego's Southcrest neighborhood.San Diego Police homicide detectives were called to the 3400 block of Newton Avenue Wednesday just before 11:30 a.m., near Interstate 15 and just a block away from Emerson/Bandini Elementary School. Police said they found a man stabbed in the chest at least once, following a fight at a homeless encampment under I-15.The man died at UCSD Medical Center.Police said they have the suspect accused of the murder in custody after several homeless people who witnessed the fight helped police track the suspect down at a nearby park.Police have identified the victim but are not releasing his name. The suspect was only identified as a 30-year-old man by police. 865

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a man they say snuck through a window into a Pacific Beach home and sexually assaulted a sleeping woman.10News met 25-year-old Christine Mansour, skateboarding along the beach.   The entrepreneur has lived in PB for the last three years, and so far, she loves her neighborhood. "There is a bit of homeless people honestly, but I've never felt unsafe," Mansour said. That is until a manhunt for a suspected rapist unfolded in her area. On Oct. 1, police said 55-year-old Jeffrey Hanze, also known as "Jeffrey Hanre," snuck into a home in the 900 block of Chalcedony Street, located off Mission Boulevard, just before 2 a.m. Once inside, police say he sexually assaulted a woman as she was sleeping, before fleeing the area in an unknown direction."I feel very sorry for her. I hope she is okay," Mansour said. Police said Hanze has been on the run ever since. We went to Hanze's Pacific Beach address nearby. Instead of Hanze, we met 75-year-old Janet Eveleigh, who told us she moved in eight months ago. Yesterday afternoon, she said police came over, searching for Hanze. "There were two at the door, and three over there, and they had guns," Eveleigh said. She told them she had never seen the man in her life. 10News also looked into Hanze's criminal past. We found he has at least two felonies out of San Diego, and was charged with several sex crimes in Arizona in 2011, including Public sexual indecency, indecent exposure to a person 15 years or more, and disorderly conduct. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a sexual assault suspect who forced a woman into his truck and drove to another area to assault her this week.The suspect drove alongside the 27-year-old woman in the 3900 block of Delta Street just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, San Diego Police said. The man exited the truck and threatened to use a Taser on the woman if she didn't comply with his demands.Police said he forced the woman into his truck, drove to an unknown area near 39th St. and Broadway, and sexually assaulted the woman. He then drove to the area of 32nd St. and National Ave. and let the woman go after she pleaded with him, police said.The man is described as a black male between 40- and 50-years-old, with short black hair, and a graying goatee. He weighs an estimated 160 to 170 pounds and stands about 5-foot, 6-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black or dark blue t-shirt and gray basketball shorts.The man's vehicle is described as an older model white extended-cab pickup truck, possibly with a blue stripe on the side.Chula Vista Police reported a similar incident with a similarly described suspect and vehicle happened in their area. Video captured the vehicle in the vicinity of the E St. trolley station in Chula Vista. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police arrested a man they say reportedly stole cell phones and other items from people at SDSU.Anthony Joseph Green was arrested Wednesday on the 6000 block of Lindo Paseo for charges related to burglary and theft in the College Area.According to the victims, Green inquired about cell phones and other items through an app called OfferUp, as well as other online sales apps.RELATED: Aztec students robbed near campus, police search for suspectsGreen is then accused of meeting with victims on campus, stealing the items, then running away without giving the victims cash.According to campus police, all the victims were identified as non-students. 682

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- More than a thousand job seekers attended the annual Jobtoberfest at Pechanga Arena in San Diego Tuesday..One of those looking for a new position was Mirella Solis. She's living with cerebal palsy which has kept her in a wheelchair. But, it's not holding her back. "When people look at me. It's been really hard, but I overcome that. You can do anything, I tell people you can do anything in the world," said Solis.Solid has worked in the security field and wants to move onto bigger opportunities so she decided to attend this job fair.Charlene Autolino is the chair of San Diego Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, which put the fair together. She said the event gives many more than just a job, but motivation to strive for more."Imagine being told for years that you can't do anything because of this disability, or you aren't capable of able which is not true," said Autolino.The organizer of this event will also be hosting a similar job fair specifically for veterans in November. 1031
