China will continually deploy powerful economic policies to stabilize employment in support of economic recovery from novel coronavirus shocks, Finance Minister Liu Kun said at a virtual meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors.

China will continue to compile such plans to boost regional development, Shen said, and could finish plans for a total of 19 city clusters by 2020. Last year, China compiled a development plan for six city clusters, with eight to be done in the coming two years.

China will also work to better protect intellectual property rights and further promote the use of negative lists for a more convenient and equitable policy environment for overseas investors, the premier stressed. Negative lists specify areas where investment is prohibited — all other areas are presumed to be open.

China recently sent a large delegation to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to hold a memorial ceremony for Chinese soldiers who died and were buried there, marking the first overseas memorial activity in the wake of a law honoring fallen heroes.
