(KGTV) -- Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was discovered on a Carlsbad hiking trail Monday morning.Carlsbad police were called to the Hosp Grove Trails, near the Buena Vista Lagoon and in the 2600 block of Monroe Street, shortly before 11:30 a.m. after someone reported the discovery of a body in the area.The deceased woman, believed to be 65 years old, has not been officially identified.ABC 10News learned police are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (KGTV) - Camp Pendleton issued an alert Friday for a Marine missing on a recreational backcountry ski trip. 1st Lt. Matthew Kraft left for Kearsarge Pass on the Sierra High Route Feb. 23 and was scheduled to return Mar. 4 or 5 near Bridgeport. His rental car, a gray 2016 2-door Jeep Wrangler has not been found at the trip’s starting point in Independence. 11 law enforcement, federal, and state agencies are searching for Kraft. The Fresno County Sheriff, CHP, and Air National Guard have been conducting aerial searches. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities. 608

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - Each Monday, a group of dedicated seniors gather in their woodshop, on a mission to make the holidays a little brighter for North County kids in need. The woodworking elves of the La Costa Glen senior living community in Carlsbad have spent nearly a year creating 100 handmade toys of all shapes and sizes.The toys have up to 39 pieces, crafted with various types of wood like walnut, cherry, and mahogany.
