(CNN) - A Japanese man died on board a flight from Mexico City to Tokyo with 246 packets of cocaine in his stomach.Identified only as Udo N., the 42-year-old passenger flew from Bogota, Colombia, to the Mexican capital, where he transferred to a flight to Narita airport, Tokyo, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office for the Mexican state of Sonora."Crew noticed a person suffering convulsions and requested to make an emergency landing in Hermosillo, Sonora," reads the statement.At 2.25 a.m. local time (5.25 a.m. ET) on May 24, paramedics boarded the plane and found the passenger had died.An autopsy revealed that Udo N. died from a cerebral edema caused by an overdose, according to the statement.There were 246 plastic packets of cocaine in his stomach and intestines, measuring 1 by 2.5 centimeters each.After his body was removed from the plane the flight continued its journey to Japan with 198 passengers on board.Swallowing packets of drugs is a common way that smugglers try to move illicit substances from country to country.In September 2016 a 48-year-old Australian man was caught with 1.1 kilograms (2.4 pounds) of cocaine in his stomach at Sydney Airport, Australia.The man, who lives in Thailand, had passed a baggage examination when he told police he had ingested a large number of packets filled with cocaine. 1354

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Live Well San Diego is getting some new wheels.The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to purchase a vehicle that will take the services of the public wellness, safety and quality-of-life program directly to residents.The Live Well ``mobile office'' will offer disaster aid; community health services; housing assistance; and outreach to seniors, veterans and the homeless, according to planners.Supervisor Greg Cox called the rolling service a continuation of Live Well efforts that will allow the county to reach out to citizens more efficiently.The vehicle will make regular stops countywide, Health & Human Services Agency Director Nick Machionne told the board.``We don't anticipate any issues,'' Machionne said. ``The mobility will only improve our access.''The goal is to have the vehicle on the road this year, HHSA spokeswoman Sarah Sweeney said.The program will cost 0,000, which will come out of the fiscal 2019-20 budget. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - An El Cajon homeowner knew he had a bee problem but never expected the "massive" hive discovered in his backyard."It's pretty incredible," said Herb Herbert.He first noticed a few bees about two years ago in the back yard of his home on Primrose Drive."The bees were coming in and out of a small hole at the bottom of my shed," said Herbert.The vent hole is one of several that led to open spaces under his shed. Last winter, the bees seemed to go away, but they were back in the summer. Herbert was stung once while mowing the lawn."There were 20 to 30 bees buzzing outside at any time," said Herbert.Herbert had plans for some entertaining in the near future, so last week he hired Bee Nice Wildlife Management. They peeled back the wood flooring in one corner of the shed and discovered a 30-inch long, 70-pound hive, home to between 100,000 and 150,000 honey bees."I had no idea the scope of what was under there. It was massive and amazing. The bee guy said we were lucky, the bees were getting set to expand the hive," said Herbert.As the local bee season gets underway, Herbert calls that possibility mind-boggling. While honeybees are generally not aggressive, they can still be dangerous.The bee removal company was able to relocate the hive and the bees. They say the size of the hive is not an indication of what may lie ahead. Because it's been a slightly above average rainfall, the region is likely in store for a typical bee season. 1482
