CORONADO (KGTV) -- A man was taken into custody Wednesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman on a boat anchored in San Diego Bay, Harbor Police announced.Pablo Alvarez, 38, was booked on five felony counts related to sexual assault by force, according to jail records.The alleged assault happened in the waters off Coronado's Tidelands Park in what's known as the A-4 anchorage, a place where several dozen boats are anchored just north of the Coronado Bridge.There is no dock, so boaters must use a dinghy or a kayak to access the larger vessels in the anchorage.Early Wednesday morning, the victim fled a sailboat in the anchorage using a kayak, but the kayak capsized in the darkness, forcing the woman to swim the rest of the way to shore, said Harbor Police Lt. Victor Banuelos.The woman managed to call the police just before 4:45 a.m.Alvarez and the woman were the only people on board the sailboat at the time, according to Banuelos. The nature of their relationship is under investigation.Alvarez is scheduled to appear in court Friday.Harbor Police asked anyone with information to call detectives at 619-686-8132. 1141

Coca-Cola has introduced a touch-free soda machine amid the coronavirus pandemic.In a press release, the company launched the Coca-Cola Freestyle dispenser, which they say is contactless.“All Coca-Cola beverage dispensers are safe with recommended care and cleaning,” said Chris Hellmann, vice president, and general manager, Coca-Cola Freestyle in the release. “But given these uncertain times, people may prefer a touchless fountain experience. It has been exciting to see our team continuing to innovate – mostly from home – to meet the evolving needs of customers and consumers. It’s all about the joy ride of life,” said Grant Babb, the owner of Joyride Brewing.That’s despite new state rules that state bars must serve food to stay open, and Joyride doesn't serve food.“It makes you lose a little sleep at night, not knowing every day when you wake up if you have to do something different. It’s trying to shoot at a bullseye and just watching it constantly move,” said Babb.Babb had to make arrangements with multiple food trucks and the restaurant down the street to stay open. That’s because the recent spike in COVID-19 cases has led the state to put its economic restart plans on hold.“In our case, we schedule out food trucks about a month and a half in advance, and we’re working with only the food trucks we’re trusted partners with,” said Babb.Colorado isn’t the only state backtracking due to the surge. According to a tracker from the New York Times, 15 states are pausing plans to reopen and six are reversing course and shutting some things back down.Arizona is one of those states where bars, gyms, and theaters have been ordered closed once again. Restaurants there fear the same might happen to them soon if new COVID-19 cases aren’t curbed.“You can’t simply turn off and turn on a restaurant operation,” said Steve Churci, the head of the Arizona Restaurant Association.
