The data indicates that air travel is down at least 50% in the days leading up to Thanksgiving compared to years past.While fewer travelers might mean airports are less crowded, that does not mean planes are less packed. A number of airlines have slashed the number of routes in an effort to save money. This has resulted in fewer options for passengers.As there are still many Americans disregarding guidance to stay home this Thanksgiving, some are traveling for practical reasons. Many colleges and universities are not going to have in-person classes resume after Thanksgiving in hopes of reducing the spread of the virus on campuses.Although not as many Americans are expected to travel for Thanksgiving as usual, 56% of Americans are intending on traveling according to data from Tripadvisor. Tripadvisor says that this year's figures are down from an estimated 70% of Americans traveling in 2019.Tripadvisor surveyed Americans from October 16 to 20, so it is possible increased travel restrictions associated with a rise in cases could scare off some from traveling by Thanksgiving. Many states are telling travelers to quarantine for two weeks before coming into contact with others.In an interview with the Washington Post on Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that if Americans don't follow common-sense public health measures over the Thanksgiving holiday, that it could exacerbate the current spike in cases. Manwaring handcuffed the man, then cited his female companion for drug offenses.The man then asked Manwaring if he could speak to his girlfriend from the back of the officer’s patrol car. Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) wants to do something similar with the COVID-19 vaccine.The CDC suggested that people receive a sticker that says, “I got my COVID-19 vaccine.”Other groups are also starting similar initiatives.Adam Wiatrowski founded Courage Thru COVID, a group that's trying to raise awareness not only about coronavirus, but also the vaccine.The group created wristbands to give out to folks who have gotten the shot. Their goal is to create positivity.“We’re all in this together, and our goal with the Courage Thru COVID wristband is to give people an opportunity to show their unity and show their support for each other,” said Wiatrowski.The wristbands are a bright, neon green with the words “Courage Thru COVID” printed on them. Right now, only hospitals in Minnesota are getting them, but Wiatrowski hopes to expand the effort across the country.There are questions over whether this would really encourage people to get vaccinated. Psychology experts say think so, because there’s power in numbers. If we see a lot of people sporting these stickers, we're likely to be motivated enough to get the vaccine.The stickers can also create a sense of belonging.“That sense of belonging does cause us to feel, again, more motivated to belong to that group, to do what those other people around us are doing. But also, to stay true to the norms of that group by trying to convince others that those are the correct actions to take and norms to adopt,” said Robert Cialdini, psychology and marketing professor at Arizona State University.Cialdini is confident the stickers will encourage people to get vaccinated, but he is unsure at this point of how big of a difference they'll make.He adds another thing that could motivate people is seeing celebrities endorse the vaccine. TOWN OF DOVER, Wis. -- Authorities believe a woman who escaped from the Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center Thursday broke into a nearby home and stole a pickup truck. The escapee was identified as 36-year-old Christine Abel.The Racine County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a break-in at a home 2 miles away from the prison at around 9:30 p.m. Someone stole a 2007 black GM Sierra pickup with a registration plate of MZ1698. An hour later, the prison reported Abel missing during a head count.  522
