Amazon’s other food-related businesses include Whole Foods grocery delivery; AmazonFresh; and AmazonFresh Pickup. The company surprisingly shut down its restaurant delivery business last month. It entered the brick-and-mortar retail space in 2015, two decades after the e-commerce behemoth originally launched.
Amazon’s fulfillment centers — there are more than 70 across the U.S. and nearly 150 around the world — are a far cry from Amazon’s first warehouse, where a small staff packaged and mailed out books and founder Jeff Bezos had to be prodded to buy packing tables, as he tells the story.
Among other changes, he said that today's China is more than just a world factory, it is increasingly becoming a center of technological innovation with remarkable advantages in industrial designs, technologies and engineering.
