Victoria's Secret CEO Jan Singer has resigned amid a sales slump and competition from young companies challenging the brand's grip on the lingerie industry.The Wall Street Journal first reported Singer's departure last week. Flashy fashion shows, push-up bras and celebrity models aren't drawing people in like they used to. Instead, women are clamoring for more products with a better fit.Online stores like ThirdLove, Lively and True & Co. are using tech and harnessing data to offer custom sizes and new products.Other parts of the L Brands business have been struggling. Vice President Mike Pence will provide a COVID-19 briefing to healthcare workers in Philadelphia on Thursday.The briefing is the second coronavirus-related briefing in as many days for the vice president. On Wednesday, he held a briefing at the Department of Education in Washington that mainly focused on the Trump administration's plan to reopen schools by fall.At that briefing, Pence promised that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would be releasing new guidelines — echoing criticism from President Donald Trump, who claimed Wednesday that the current CDC guidelines were "too tough." Uber doesn't plan to renew its self-driving vehicle permit in California.The news comes less than two weeks after a self-driving Uber SUV struck and killed 49-year-old Elaine Herzberg as she walked her bicycle across a street in Tempe, Arizona. After the tragedy, the company halted testing of its self-driving cars on roads in North America.Uber's self-driving permit in California goes until March 31 -- and the company said it will let the permit expire."We decided to not reapply for a California DMV permit with the understanding that our self-driving vehicles would not operate on public roads in the immediate future," an Uber spokesperson said in a statement to CNN on Tuesday.Uber's statement comes after several news outlets, including CNN, obtained a letter sent by DMV deputy director and chief counsel Brian Soublet to Uber's public affairs manager, Austin Heyworth on Tuesday regarding its permit.Soublet wrote that if and when Uber applies for a new autonomous vehicle testing permit, it will "need to address any follow-up analysis or investigations from the recent crash in Arizona an may also require a meeting with the department."The news of the letter was first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.The Tempe Police Department and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched investigations into the crash.Last week, Boston's government asked self-driving companies operating in the city to halt operations while safety procedures are reviewed. UPDATE 10:40 P.M.(KGTV) -- At least four people are dead and 15 people were injured after a shooting at the Garlic Festival Sunday evening in Gilroy, police said Sunday night during a press conference. Officials said the suspect entered the event through a neighboring creek and used a tool to cut into the fencing surrounding the festival. At about 5:41 p.m., there were reports of gunfire at the north side of the festival area.Gilroy Police officers staged in the north side were able to engage the suspect in less than a minute, said Gilroy Chief Police Scot Smithee.
