OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department (OPD) says a preliminary investigation into President Donald Trump's MAGA rally Tuesday at Eppley Airport shows seven people were transported to local hospitals for "a variety of medical conditions" and many more sought aid for other medical reasons.About 25,000 people were taken from the parking lots to the rally site via 40 buses over the course of the day. The buses started running at 10 a.m. CT. When the rally ended and President Donald Trump left, there was high demand for buses around 9 p.m. It was already 34 degrees outside at that time. Reports from the rally indicate thousands of attendees were stranded in the cold, waiting for buses to take them back to their cars. A Trump administration official told local media the buses were delayed by a traffic jam on access roads near the airport. OPD says buses for people with handicaps were made available and additional buses from the Metro Area Transit Authority were called in to give people a ride back to their vehicles. Some did choose to walk back to their cars, which was about 2.5 miles away. The department said many underestimated the distance and that the OPD gave aid to the elderly and those who had trouble making the trek.Officers from several departments stayed in the area and the last person was loaded onto a bus at about 11:50 p.m.In regards to foot and vehicle traffic, OPD says things returned to normal at about 12:30 a.m.Of those in attendance, about 30 were contacted for medical reasons.Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer commented on the event at a press conference Wednesday morning:More on the rally: President Trump holds MAGA rally in OmahaThis story originally reported on 3NewsNow.com. 1769

On Election Day, TikTok says it will limit premature victory claims until the Associated Press has declared a result. The company said in a press release that they are doing this to make sure no one is intimidated or suppressed by voting. The social media company added that they'd be partnering with fact-checkers to "reduce discoverability of content that prematurely claims victory in a race" before results are confirmed.TikTok says if the results cannot be verified or fact-checking is inconclusive, they will limit the content's distribution. The company added that they'd also add a banner that'll point users to its election guide on content with unverifiable claims about voting, premature declarations of victory, or attempts to dissuade people from voting by exploiting COVID-19 as a voter suppression tactic. 825

On Tuesday, president-elect Joe Biden will formally introduce his picks to head up several key positions in his presidential administration from his transition headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.During his remarks, Biden confirmed reporting on his choices to fill six key roles in his upcoming administration.Watch the remarks in the video below: Biden's future nominees include:Anthony Blinken, former deputy national security adviser, for Secretary of StateAlejandro Mayorkas, former Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, to lead the same agencyAvril Haines, former Obama Principal Deputy National Security Advisor, for Director of National IntelligenceLinda Thomas-Greenfield, a longtime member of U.S. Foreign Service, to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.Jake Sullivan, Biden campaign policy adviser, as National Security AdviserJohn Kerry, former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential nominee, to be Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.Reports have also surfaced in recent days that Biden intends to nominate former Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen as the Secretary of the Treasury, though he did not make such an announcement on Tuesday.Biden's selections represent a return to a reliance on career bureaucrats and longtime Washington policy advisers for top executive branch positions. Throughout his term, President Donald Trump has filled top posts in his administration with candidates from the private sector.Biden's press conference will take place less than a day after the General Services Administration ascertained him as the winner of the 2020 election. The move grants Biden access to key information, like the daily presidential brief, and funds that can be used to begin hiring key positions.Cabinet-level positions require Senate confirmation, meaning that depending on the outcome of two runoff races in Georgia in January, Biden may face challenges in filling top positions. Democrats will need to win both Senate races to reach 50 seats in the Senate, and would then control the chamber as Vice President Kamala Harris would hold the tie-breaking vote. 2115
