Newsom said to, "know your rights, learn more about your rights, legal protection, know that you should continue to camp, summer school, know that you should feel confident going to work, we have your back."The governor continued on to say that anyone fearing the planned Sunday raids does not have to open their door without a signed warrant, has the right to a lawyer, and has the right to remain silent if contacted by ICE. 639

(KGTV and ABC) - A Pittsburgh dad who is working three jobs gave his daughter the dress of her dreams for her eighth-grade dance in a viral video.14-year-old Nevaeha Smith found a dress she loved for her eighth-grade dance at Ringgold Middle School in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, but realized that at 0, it might be too expensive."I said, 'Mom, dad, I want this dress,'" Nevaeha told ABC News. "Is it in our price range?""I looked at the price and I was like, 'Uh, not really sure, but I can see what I can do,'" said Ricky Smith, Nevaeha's father.Ricky works at McDonald’s, Popeye’s, and a Circle K convenience store to make ends meet. To earn enough for the dress, he worked extra shifts; occasionally working seven days a week. When Ricky saved enough money, he broke the news to Nevaeha's mom, Kelly Anne."She said, 'Why don’t you surprise her?'" said Ricky. Kelly Anne had her camera ready when Nevaeha stopped by McDonald’s to see her father."I was working at McDonald’s that day and I put the dress in the back," Ricky told ABC News. "She came and I brought it out and told her that her grandmother bought it for her and I told her, 'This ain’t the dress you wanted, but I hope you like it.'""I was thinking, 'This is going to be an old lady dress,'" said Nevaeha. The viral video showed Nevaeha sitting at a table as her father slowly revealed her heart’s desire. Her expression was shocked, followed by tears of joy. Nevaeha leaped out of her seat to hug her father."To see the look on her face it was priceless," said Ricky. "All I can really do was smile."Nevaeha could barely speak as she thanked her father."My heart felt like there was more love in it than there was before," said Nevaeha, describing the big moment. "I love him and I’m really happy that’s he’s my father."She finished her school year wearing the dress of her dreams, which is now associated with the love of her father. 1919

(CNN) -- Uber released its highly-anticipated safety report on Thursday revealing, among other details, that it received 5,981 reports of sexual assault in 2017 and 2018.Among those, there were 464 reports of rape.Uber first pledged to release the report nearly a year ago in response to a CNN investigation that found at least 103 Uber drivers in the United States had been accused of sexually assaulting or abusing their passengers in the previous four years. The drivers were arrested, wanted by police, or had been named in civil suits related to the incidents. It was the first time that any numbers had been put to the issue.RELATED: Uber, Lyft riders report being charged for cleanup fees for messes they didn't makeAfter CNN started asking questions about sexual assault incidents, Uber announced increased safety measures in 2018, including a partnership with RapidSOS, a company that sends a rider's location and relevant information to a local police agency when the rider uses the emergency button in the Uber app. Uber also revamped its background check policy to conduct annual checks on drivers. Uber ultimately announced it would do away with a policy that previously forced individuals with sexual-assault complaints into arbitration and made them sign non-disclosure agreements.Uber went public in May but warned investors in its IPO paperwork about the report, which it said could negatively impact its brand."The public responses to this transparency report or similar public reporting of safety incidents claimed to have occurred on our platform ... may result in negative media coverage and increased regulatory scrutiny and could adversely affect our reputation with platform users," the company says in the filing.Uber and competitor Lyft have faced legal action related to safety issues around the country. A lack of transparency about the number of incidents involving drivers has been a sticking point in lawsuits against the company. Lyft has also said it will release a safety report by the end of the year. 2044

(KGTV) — California officials announced Thursday the state's REAL ID identification is now in line with federal requirements.Last December, the Department of Homeland Security notified state officials that requirements for the new identification and drivers license needed to be stricter. Now, those applying for the card will need to show one proof of identity, original or certified; one proof of Social Security Number; and two proofs of California residency. A complete list of acceptable documents is available online here. Those who have already received a REAL ID license or card will receive a letter in the mail asking them to confirm their address and must mail the form back to the DMV. This will count for their second form of identification.RELATED: San Diego DMV customer has warning about websitePreviously, the state only required one proof of residency and counted the post office's delivery of the ID as the second form, placing it at odds with federal requirements.Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, the REAL ID drivers license or ID will be needed for airline passengers traveling domestically or accessing federal facilities or military bases. However, airline passengers will still be able to show a passport to travel within the U.S. as well.Residents are encouraged to schedule appointments to apply for a REAL ID and fill out the necessary paperwork (available online) before visiting DMV offices. So far, the state estimates about 4.1 million REAL ID drivers licenses and cards have been issued. 1518

(CNN) -- Mike Tyson isn't shy about his love for marijuana. On Monday's episode of his podcast, aptly named "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson," the former heavyweight champion shared just how much he spends on the psychoactive drug."What do we smoke a month?" he asked his co-host, former NFL player turned marijuana advocate Eben Britton. "Is it ,000 a month?""We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month," Britton said, referencing Tyson Ranch, the boxer's forthcoming 40-acre marijuana farm and "resort.""Is that crazy?" Tyson asked, though it seemed he already knew the answer. His guest, rapper Jim Jones, widened his eyes."That's a lot of weed," he said. "That's nonstop, every second weed right there."Tyson's latest career pivot might be his most lucrative.Shortly after California's recreational marijuana laws went into effect in 2018, he launched Tyson Ranch, which sells nine strains of cannabis flower, potent extracts and soon, edibles. In addition to production facilities, the luxury resort is set to feature an edible factory, amphitheater and "glamping" campgrounds. 1087
