Say goodbye to emotional-support animals in airplane cabins. The Transportation Department issued a final rule Wednesday covering service animals. The rule says only dogs can qualify, and they have to be specially trained to help a person with disabilities. "This final rule defines a service animal as a dog, regardless of breed or type, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a qualified individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. It allows airlines to recognize emotional support animals as pets, rather than service animals, and permits airlines to limit the number of service animals that one passenger can bring onboard an aircraft to two service animals," the final rule states. Those traveling with a service dog will be required to fill out a form from the DOT "attesting to the animal’s training and good behavior, and certifying the animal’s good health" before flying. For years, some travelers have been bringing untrained dogs and all kinds of other animals on board by claiming they need the animal for emotional support. Airlines believe some passengers were avoiding pet fees by calling their pets emotional-support animals. The DOT proposed the change earlier this year and received more than 15,000 comments on the proposal, they said in a press release. The new rules take effect in 30 days. 1430

SEDGWICK, Colo. – A man suspected of killing three members of a Kentucky family who were found dead Monday was arrested Monday afternoon near a small town in northeast Colorado.Edward Siddens, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. in Sedgwick, Colorado, which is just south and west of borders with Nebraska.He was wanted by Kentucky State Police out of Allen County, Kentucky. In connection to the deaths of Jimmy Siddens, his wife, Helen Siddens, and their son, Jimmy Siddens II. It's unclear how Edward Siddens might be related to the deceased.According to Kentucky authorities and local media reports, a county water employee was checking the family’s meter Monday and found two bodies on the ground. Authorities found another body nearby.The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified shortly after 4 p.m. Monday that Siddens as in the county.Siddens was believed to have been driving a stolen vehicle when he was found by deputies in the town of Sedgwick. The sheriff’s office says deputies were involved in a “short low speed pursuit” with Siddens before he was arrested without incident.The sheriff’s office confirmed that Siddens was the man arrested Monday, and said it was working with Kentucky state police. (KGTV) — San Diego County will set up a coronavirus testing site at one of the world's busiest border crossings.County Supervisor Greg Cox said Wednesday the testing site will be at San Ysidro Port of Entry's PedWest crossing and serve about 200 tests daily. The testing site will be used for essential workers coming into the U.S. from Mexico and returning U.S. citizens. (KGTV) - Surveillance pictures released Monday show two of the four people suspected of identity theft in East County.The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said a woman either lost her wallet or had it stolen at the Vons grocery store at 9643 Mission Gorge Road in Santee on January 20.The victim’s credit cards were used immediately by four suspects at several nearby stores including Buffalo Wild Wings, Home Depot, Walmart, Skechers, and Ross.Two of the suspects were identified and arrested but the other two are still wanted.One suspect is a white man in his 40’s, 6-feet tall with gray hair. He was last seen wearing a yellow and black plaid jacket and jeans.The other suspect is a white woman, about 40 years old, 5’6” and 230 pounds. She has burgundy or purple hair and wears glasses. SeaWorld said Monday it rescued a bottlenose dolphin last week that suffered serious injuries after it was attacked by a shark in North Florida.The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission called SeaWorld to help rescue the 265-pound dolphin after it was discovered along Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.Because of the life-threatening injuries, animal experts decided to transport the animal to SeaWorld Orlando for rehabilitation.Officials said the dolphin sustained multiple shark bite wounds to her body and right pectoral flipper.After treatment, the dolphin was able to swim unsupported at the park’s rescue facility.SeaWorld said they are currently providing the dolphin 24-hour care to help it gain strength. 754
