BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Experts worldwide on Tuesday spoke highly of the proposals put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly via video, on global anti-pandemic cooperation and the role of the United Nations in the international system.
Noting that more than 50 percent of L'Oreal's sales in China come via e-commerce, Jean-Paul Agon, CEO of the cosmetics giant, said that "We are learning a lot in China and thanks to the learning that we have in China, we are improving our performance in e-commerce in all the countries of the world."
"China's success in fighting poverty is the result of continued political commitment and effective policies since its reform and opening up," said Beate Trankmann, resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in China, at the International Seminar on Poverty Eradication and Responsibility of Political Parties.
"China's support to the Arab countries in combating coronavirus has proved that we live in the world of common destiny, which is one of the most important concepts of the Belt and Road Initiative," said Yousif.
"COVID-19 reminds us that we are living in an interconnected global village with a common stake," he said.
