(KGTV) -- A woman died early Sunday morning after her vehicle rolled over on a North County road before being struck by several other drivers suspected of driving under the influence.According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of SR-78 near Mar Vista Drive.CHP says the 33-year-old woman from Oceanside was driving her Toyota Carolla when she veered off the road onto a dirt shoulder. When the woman tried to regain control of the vehicle she hit the center divider wall, leaving the vehicle disabled.RELATED: Pregnant mom who fell asleep at the wheel crashes into Vista building, causing gas leakAfter the crash, a 54-year-old man from San Marcos struck the Corolla, ejecting the woman from her car. The 33-year-old driver of the Corolla died at the scene, CHP said, and the 54-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to officers, after the second crash, a 38-year-old man also from San Marcos crashed into both of the vehicles previously involved in the crash. The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital.The drivers of the vehicles involved in the second and third crashes are both suspected of driving under the influence.The District Attorney’s office also responded to the scene after being requested by officers to aid in the investigation.SR-78 west is currently closed. UK's government announced on Thursday that it will begin enforcing a ban on the sale of plastic straws, drink stirrers and cotton swabs (with a plastic stem) to combat plastic pollution..UK's government said it will work with companies to come up environmentally friendly alternative products. The government added that it is working to exempt the plastic straw ban for medical purposes. The latest efforts come after the UK has already implemented a ban on plastic microbeads, and began charging a tax on plastic bags. The government said it estimates that the plastic bag tax has reduced the number of plastic bags distributed by 9 billion. "The UK government is a world leader on this issue, and the British public have shown passion and energy embracing our plastic bag charge and microbead ban, and today we have put forward ambitious plans to further reduce plastic waste from straws, stirrers and cotton (swabs)," UK Prime Minister Theresa May said in a statement. The actions are part of a 25-year plan to eliminate avoidable plastic waste. 1081

TULSA -- Dash cam video released Monday shows a man smash a Tulsa Police Department vehicle with a large pipe.Police said on Aug. 7 around 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to Brookhaven Hospital for a patient attempting to leave.The man was later found on I-244 eastbound.The man is seen smashing an officer's window. Police said the man was experiencing a mental health crisis.The man was tackled and officers returned him to the hospital.No arrests were made.  475

United Airlines has established a new policy for transporting pets in cargo holds that includes banning dozens of dog breeds and several types of cats.The new policy takes effect June 18, when the carrier will resume reservations for its PetSafe program. The airline temporarily stopped the program in March after a series of high-profile incidents involving pets that were lost and others that died on United flights.United said it will be working with American Humane, an animal-welfare group, to improve the well-being of pets that travel on United, both in the cargo hold and in the cabin.
