This weekend, most Americans will set their clocks back one hour Saturday night as everyone reverts back to standard time.Every state except Hawaii and Arizona observe Daylight Saving Time in the summer months.The idea of Daylight Saving Time has been around for more than a century for a variety of reasons, including more evening daylight and saving energy.Germany was the first country to experiment with it, and it wasn't fully adopted in the United States until 1918 when "An Act to save daylight and to provide standard time, for the United States" was passed.Once this law was passed, it established the time zones we use today — Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific — and specified when Daylight Saving Time would begin and end.Two years later, however, the Daylight Saving Time option was repealed and left up to localities to decide whether or not they'd change their clocks.Nationwide Daylight Saving Time returned for almost three years during World War II when President Franklin Roosevelt instituted "War Time," or year-round Daylight Saving Time.It wasn't until 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson signed the Uniform Time Act, which ended a lot of confusion by setting standards for when Daylight Saving Time would begin and end. Toys "R" Us is on its way out, but KB Toys is set to pop back up.Strategic Marks, a company that buys and revitalizes defunct brands, owns the KB name and plans to open 1,000 pop-up KB Toys stores for Black Friday and the holiday shopping season."My assumption is that there's about half a billion dollars worth of toys that have been produced for Toys "R" Us with no place to go," said Strategic Marks president Ellia Kassoff, in a phone interview with CNNMoney. "That's a big, big void that we're hoping to fill up."Toys "R" Us, which filed for bankruptcy last year, announced last week that it expects to close all of its 735 stores in the US. Those closures will put 31,000 people out of work and hurt toy manufacturers that depended on the national retailer for distribution.Kassoff said he's been in contact with Hasbro Inc. and Mattel, Inc. and up to 200 smaller toy suppliers who are looking for new brick and mortar retailers. He said he plans to take advantage of a glut of toy manufacturers that have inventory but no place to sell it.To get a quick retail footprint, Kassoff said he's working with companies that specialize in holiday and pop-up retail, like Spencer Spirit Holdings Inc., Go! A visionary who failed to yield to the influence of others as he remained devoted to his creative vision, he often drove away those who he relied on. He also exploited his fame to indulge in romance and power fantasies with young fans.Kricfalusi opens up in a shockingly candid manner, apologizing for some of his decisions while doubling down on others. What emerges is a complete, complex portrait of a troubled man who started from nothing, had it all and then lost just about everything. The series aired from 1991 to 1995 on Nickelodeon, then came back in a brief, adult-themed incarnation in 2003. Kricfalusi has now lost most of his creative relevance, and apparently, also his drive.While "Ren & Stimpy" superfans will get the most out of the documentary, it also makes for a fascinating ride for anyone with a passing interest in the evolving form of animation. A hand with a middle finger extended sits in the middle of the decal.In a post on Facebook, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy E. Nehls said he had received numerous calls about the offending sticker.
