(KGTV) — A rapidly-spreading wildfire tore through thousands of acres in Northern California Thursday, as strong winds and low humidity brought a red flag warning to the region.The Camp Fire sparked at about 6:30 a.m. in the Pulga area, near Paradise, Calif., in Butte County. Within a few hours, the blaze had charred at least 5,000 acres.By 7 p.m. Thursday, the fire had reached 20,000 acres. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is currently acting governor with Gov. (KGTV) - A workplace shooting at YouTube's San Bruno headquarters has left many local workers wondering, "what would I do?"Cody Perron, COO of the security firm Fidelis Global Group, said it initially comes down to two simple things every employee can do."Number one is maintain situational awareness, so anywhere you are whether it's public or your office space," Perron said. "If it's in public, be concerned with your surroundings and notice things that stand out, that are counter to normal activity in that environment. So when you walk inside a facility, especially where you work, you should know where your entries and exits are. (KGTV) - In the months since recreational cannabis became legal in California, the state's tax officials say millions in revenue have been generated.Figures released Friday indicate the state received .9 million in revenue generated by cannabis sales since January 1, according to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.First quarter sales revenue figures include cultivation, excise, and sales taxes from cannabis sales in California. (KGTV) - For the third year in a row, babies were born too soon, a sign that the health of mothers and infants is worsening, according to March of Dimes.The statistics recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed the preterm birth rates rose to 9.93 percent in 2017, up from 9.86 in 2016.The rate marks the third consecutive increase after seven years of decline, according to the CDC. The new figures showed the rate increased among non-Hispanic black women and Hispanic women, and remained unchanged among non-Hispanic white women.RELATED: Number of babies born in the US dropped to a 30-year low"Moms and babies are facing an urgent health crisis in this country," Stacey Stewart, president of March of Dimes, said.
