(KGTV) — The Del Mar Fairgrounds may face increased pressure to stop the Crossroads of the West gun show from selling so-called 'ghost gun' kits at its show starting later this month.The Del Mar City Council on Monday will consider passing a resolution recommending the Del Mar Fairgrounds ask the show to prohibit its vendors from selling unregulated firearm parts, components and gun-build kids. Do you think a felon is going to register a gun? Do you think someone who is suicidal who is not going to pass a background check is going to register a gun? No," she said. But Danielle Jaymes, who heads sales at Poway Weapons and Gear range, said people who want to break the law will, no matter what. "If they aren't legally allowed to buy a gun in California and they go across state lines and buy an unfinished frame and then build up themselves, they're going to do it," she said. DESCHUTES COUNTY, Ore. -- A missing Oregon baby was found naked and lying in the dirt by a detective last week near Bend, according to authorities.On May 10, deputies say a man, identified as Brandon Blouin, came out of the woods asking for law enforcement after losing his 1-year-old son.Blouin told deputies that he and the baby's 18-year-old mother, along with the child, were staying in the forest when the woman walked away and didn’t return.Blouin went looking for the woman. He told deputies he set the 1-year-old down and left him.Deputies say Blouin is believed to have been under the influence of a controlled substance when he decided to walk away.The child was found by the detective about one mile away from the vehicle the family had been staying in. The baby was found lying naked in the dirt, according to deputies. Blouin was arrested on several charges. 889

DALLAS — Southwest Airlines is moving closer to the first furloughs in the airline's nearly 50-year history. The airline warned nearly 7,000 employees this week that they could lose their jobs unless labor unions accept concessions to help Southwest cope with a sharp drop in travel during the pandemic. That's roughly 12% of the airline's staff.The jobs impacted include customer service agents, ramp agents, operations agents, provisioning agents and freight agents nationwide. Last month, Southwest warned another 400 mechanics could be furloughed. Southwest is seeking pay cuts of around 10% in exchange for no furloughs through 2021. In WARN letters required by law of the possible involuntary furloughs, Southwest says they were able to operate without any employee pay cuts, layoffs or furloughs this year because of the Payroll Support Program in the CARES Act from Congress. Once the protections and funding expired on September 30, the airline says they implemented voluntary separation opportunities, "with approximately 25 percent of Employees taking voluntary options," the airline writes. The airline’s top labor-relations official says negotiations with unions have stalled.
