Tumblr said in a statement to The Verge that the decision to ban adult content did not stem from that incident.Tumblr's new policy bans "explicit sexual content" and most instances of nudity. Two SWAT team members in Florida have reportedly been suspended for choosing to respond, without permission, to a shooting at a high school in Florida where 17 people tragically lost their lives.According to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, two Miramar, Florida, SWAT team members were on duty, in the area at the time of the shooting. The SWAT officers chose to respond to the school, despite not having been told to. According to the Miramar Police Department, their decision, "created an officer safety issue and left them unaccountable for their actions," the Sun-Sentinel reports. Detective Jeffrey Gilbert and Detective Carl Schlosser were notified of their suspension on February 22, the newspaper reports. They were instructed to turn in their SWAT-issued rifles immediately. The two reportedly remain on active duty for their other assignments.Union officials are defending the actions of the SWAT officers, saying that they were following their natural instincts to help those in need when they responded to the school. “While it may have been a violation of policy to not notify their supervisors that they were going there, their intentions were brave and heroic, I think,” Police Benevolent Association President Jeff Marano told the Sun-Sentinel.On Wednesday, a Florida grand jury has formally indicted Nikolas Cruz in the Parkland school shooting. (KGTV) - An unscheduled Veterans Day tribute played out at a cemetery in the North County.More than a week ago, local florist Jenelle Brinneman learned Valley Center's annual Veterans Day program had been canceled by COVID-19, including a ceremony at Valley Center Cemetery.She started raising money online and during her flower deliveries. In the end, she raised enough to place roses at the graves of hundreds of veterans."We have over 300 veterans that laid to rest here and we just wanted to make sure they are remembered," said Brinneman.Donors could nominate veterans for rose bouquets. One of those donors was the family of Robert Cronin, an Army veteran who fought in World War II in France and Germany. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 83."It means a lot to me to have him honored because he was a special part of our lives," said granddaughter Francesca Pappagallo.She says Cronin earned numerous medals, including the Legion of Merit for inventing a slide rule tool to increase the accuracy of cannons. Loved ones thought his rank was 'Colonel,' but after he passed away, a different truth emerged."They did a lot of research and he was actually a retired one-star General. (KGTV) - Loved ones are making a gut-wrenching plea for tips after a hit-and-run crash that left a man on life support, days before his wedding day."I don't know what to do without him," said Sami Johnson, the daughter of Steven Johnson"I'm heartbroken. He was my everything," said Karlene Moen, Johnson's fiancee.Johnson - a father of six and a grandfather - was riding his motorcycle to work at a Lakeside trucking company Friday when he crashed around 5:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 67 just past Willows Road. His first call was to his fiancee."He sounded hurt. He sounded scared, and he was pissed off," said Moen.He posted photos of his injured leg on Facebook. He told Moen a woman in a car cut him off, causing him to crash."He said, 'We locked eyes. She knows I was there ... She just left me and left me laying in the road,'" said Moen. Soon after the accident, he developed chest pains. He was rushed into surgery with a torn aorta. On Sunday morning, Johnson went into cardiac arrest. He was revived but suffered severe brain damage. He was placed on life support. Moen says the he will be taken off life support in the coming days, and his organs will be donated.His wedding planned for Saturday will now be a 'Celebration of Life' service."He'll never see me in my wedding dress that I bought especially for him," said a tearful Moen.She's hoping the driver that caused the crash will be identified.We just want justice.
