SDG&E crews and contract firefighters helped patrol power lines to ensure they were safe and free of debris, so we could begin safely restoring power. This same process will begin at daylight (Wednesday), starting with areas of the county that are not expected to see high wind speeds (on Wednesday)," an SDG&E spokesperson told 10News in an email.“We recognize how inconvenient it is to be without power. Public safety is our highest priority and we appreciate everyone’s patience throughout the duration of this extreme weather event,” SDG&E officials wrote in a blog.RELATED: 10News?Pinpoint Weather ForecastThe majority of the power outages were in East County communities, where SDG&E opened resource centers to provide charging stations, water, and food. 1560

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County is suspending enforcement of restaurant closures following a Wednesday court ruling.Superior Court Judge Joel R. Wohlfeil issued an injunction prohibiting a cease-and-desist order from being enforced on strip clubs and "San Diego County businesses with restaurant service.” At a hearing on Thursday, Wohlfeil said his ruling encompasses all restaurants, not just strip clubs. In November, the county fell into the state’s purple tier, forcing eateries to cease indoor operations. Later in the year, restaurants were cornered into only offering delivery and takeout service. The order, effective immediately, still requires businesses to adhere to COVID safety protocols.RELATED: San Diego County suspends shutdown enforcement against restaurants, strip clubsFollowing the ruling, authorities issued a statement saying, in part: “We have suspended enforcement activities against restaurants and live entertainment establishments.”Read the full statement below: 1002

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police believe the man whose mud-covered body was found in the Tijuana River may have floated across the border into the United States, investigators said Friday. The man’s body was found Thursday in the river behind the Las Americas Premium Outlets, police said. He was partially covered in debris, water, and mud. An autopsy revealed the man had suffered traumatic injuries, but investigators did not provide details on the nature of them. “It is possible the man’s body was carried by the Tijuana River across the border into the United States, where it was discovered,” police said. The man had distinctive tattoos, which investigators hope to use to make an identification. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the San Diego Police Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 854
