People would not have strawberries or lettuce or avocados if people did not go out and work, and yet they are dismissing us as if we are nothing," said Ramirez.In an effort to engage voters, volunteers were out at a local food pantry. Every person driving up for food is asked if they are registered to vote and if they know where to drop off their ballot. Many have described the Latino vote as a “sleeping giant." At 20 years old, this will be her first time voting. “I know that I now have more of a voice than I did 2 years ago," said Escobar Gregory. The NFL and the Players Association announced Tuesday there were eight new confirmed positive tests among players and 11 new confirmed positives among other personnel in the latest round of testing for COVID-19. The test results are from October 11-17.The report does not identify which teams the players are on, or which roles the other personnel serve. They said 15,167 tests were administered last week to 2,459 players, and 23,713 tests were given to 5,340 personnel.During the previous week, October 4-10, there were also eight players who had new confirmed positive tests and seven other personnel.The league says they have administered more than 450,000 tests for the coronavirus between August 1 and October 17. During that time, a total of 47 players and 71 other personnel have tested positive for COVID-19. The Mormon church is parting ways with the Boy Scouts of America after more than a century.In a joint statement Tuesday night, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boy Scouts of America announced their decision to end their relationship next year after 105 years.The Boy Scouts serves about 330,000 Mormon youths, and the Mormon church is one of its largest sponsors."We have jointly determined that, effective on December 31, 2019, the church will conclude its relationship as a chartered organization with all Scouting programs around the world," the statement said.The Mormon church said it made the decision because it's expanded outside the United States, and wants to explore new youth programs that serve its international members.It will continue to work fully with the organization and support its goals and values until the end of next year. 878

The Justice Department's inspector general has sent a criminal referral regarding former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to the US attorney's office in Washington, according to a source familiar with the matter.A McCabe spokesperson, the Justice Department and US attorney's office all declined to comment.The IG had found that McCabe "lacked candor" on four occasions when discussing the disclosure of information for a Wall Street Journal article about the FBI's Clinton Foundation investigation, according to a copy of the report obtained by CNN.In addition, the inspector general determined that McCabe was not authorized to disclose the existence of the investigation because it was not within the department's "public interest" exception for disclosing ongoing investigations. As of Wednesday afternoon, Biden had 248 Electoral College votes to Trump's 214.Just as it did in 2016, the outcome of the race will likely hinge on the results of three states — Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Michigan (16 electoral votes) appears poised to offer close to a final count in the hours ahead.
