MURRIETA, Calif. (KGTV) - The father of a solar power worker injured in a Murrieta explosion wants answers about the disaster. Clay Borel’s 24-year-old son Anthony was working for Horizon Solar Panel the day the home blew up, KABC reported. "He was in pretty bad shape. I could see the cuts, and his head, and his face, legs, burned real bad on his arms, legs and face,” the father said. Anthony Borel was one of 14 people injured in the blast and can’t remember what happened that day. A man who worked for SoCal Gas died. Borel's father wants to know why the area was not evacuated between the time the gas started leaking and the explosion, KABC reports."That's enough time to say hey, move to the other side of the street, get out of the blast zone, while we figure out what's going on, so we can eliminate the threat." National restaurant chain Chili's announced this weekend that customers at some locations may have had their credit or debit card information taken in a breach of the company's data. Chili's said it learned of the incident on Friday, and said it believes the data breach impacted customers who used debit or credit cards in stores during March and April. Chili's said it is just beginning an investigation into what happened, and is working with law enforcement. The incident did not affect all Chili's customers, and Chili's is using a third-party expert to determine which customers were affected. In the meantime, Chili's recommends checking bank statements and report suspicious activity to the bank. More than 5,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling on the state of Tennessee to replace all statues honoring the Confederacy with statues honoring country music legend and native Tennessean Dolly Parton.Parton, a nine-time Grammy winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, is also known worldwide for her philanthropy efforts. Following wildfires in the Smokey Mountains, Parton donated millions of dollars to help the community's recovery. She's also touched millions of lives through her charitable foundation.The petition, started by Alex Parsons on June 11, has quickly spread online. It's moving in on its initial goal of 7,500 signatures."Let's replace the statues of men who sought to tear this country apart with a monument to the woman who has worked her entire life to bring us closer together," the petition says.In an update, organizers clarified their stance, saying that "while the idea of replacing all of those monuments with Dolly Parton may seem funny, the history of those monuments is anything but."The petition comes as communities across the country hold conversations about systemic racism in the United States amid several high-profile deaths of black men and women at the hands of police in 2020. Last week, the state of Kentucky removed a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis from its capitol rotunda, and the city of Richmond, Virginia has announced it plans to take down several Confederate monuments that dot the city.However, Tennessee has been more reluctant to remove Confederate statues. NATIONAL CITY, Calif., (KGTV)-- Residents and business owners in the South Bay are bracing for another round of floods. They have already seen flooding on 18th Street in National City this week, caused by the king tides. Now with the rain, many expect it to be worse. According to FEMA, businesses near West 18th Street and Roosevelt Ave. are right in a low-elevation flood zone. Ocean water travels from the San Diego Bay, up the Sweetwater Channel, and into Paradise Creek. That creek backs right into Jose's Auto Electric yard. Wednesday morning, the city shut down the road because of flooded streets caused by King Tides. During the day, luckily, the water receded before reaching the front door at Jose's Auto Electric. Check 10News Pinpoint Weather The combination of rain and king tides reminded employee Alma Ramirez of last year's disaster. She remembered 30 inches of rainwater gushing into her office and destroying her equipment. "We lost a lot of stuff, and I remembered that I forgot my purse," Ramirez said. "I said, 'Oh my purse!' And I tried to come back, but in less than five minutes, the water was already up. And I said 'Forget about it, just let me get out of here.'"If the flooding gets worse, Ramirez said she may have to move all of the low profile cars in their shop to another location to avoid flood damage for their customers.Meanwhile, neighboring businesses closer to Paradise Creek have already put up sandbags to protect their front office doors and garages. Ramirez hopes it does not get to that point for her shop.The National Weather Services estimates the Flash Flood Watch to continue through 10 p.m. Thursday. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minnesota judge has declined defense requests to move the trial of four Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd’s death, and also ruled that all four would be tried in a single proceeding.Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill ruled Thursday after defense attorneys argued that pretrial publicity had made it impossible for the four men to get a fair trial.They had also cited a Sept. 11 hearing in which the men and their attorneys were confronted by angry protesters outside the courthouse.Moving the trial away from Minneapolis to less diverse areas of the state likely would have affected the makeup of the jury.The officers being charged are Derek Chauvin, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao. Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder of Floyd, a black man who died after being restrained by him and the other Minneapolis police officers on May 25. Kueng, Lane and Thao have been charged with aiding and abetting Chauvin. 976
